Strengths: Durable frame, light, great value for the price, mounts for disc breaks on front and back.
Weaknesses: Crank is pretty bad and the pedals suck, (multiple scars on my shins.)Also the rims dont run straight after a while.
Bottom Line:
This bike is well worth the money and is good for a begginner or even intermediate mountain biker with some upgrades. Ive been riding this bike for a while now and it has stood up to some vigorous trails.
Bike Setup: stock except changed peddles for some primos

Strengths: I found i quite light for the year it was made. That paint job is really good. Rear can have a disc brake installed, the front ones ok, but not great. Recommended to replace it.
Weaknesses: If you ride this bike, you may die. No , im joking. The pedals are very sharp and jagged. They tear into your skin.

Strengths: Light weight,6061 aluminum frame, front disk brake(works wonders). It has kick ass double-wall rims, Shimono Index Shifting, and a good center of balance. Also is capable of installing disk brakes in the rear.
Weaknesses: The pedals wear down really fast, although I ride practically every day. The chain also tends to jump off the chainring when you land hard off a jump.
Bottom Line:
This bike may not have rear suspension or a bullet-proof frame, but it can take hits and keep on truckin'. This bike is easily upgade-able and just a great bike whether you are an agressive downhiller, or a leisure rider. This bike gets the job done.
Similar Products Used: I've ridden a trek and a Scwinn very similar to this Haro.
Bike Setup: I've added front fenders, though they broke off, Odyssey Triple Clamp Trap Pedals, and soon to have reat disk brakes and Mr. Dirt Chaingiude,

Strengths: Fantastic Price, great set up for a beginner like me. Decent enough shock, strong frame, decent (but not great) component set.
Weaknesses: None found so far
Bottom Line:
This bike is an unbeatable value. I love it to death and it only cost me $250. I have made a few minor upgrades, mostly just free hand me downs from my friend. It is a great starting point for a beginner and it has a lot of potential for upgrades - in particular it has both front and rear disc brake mounting points. Some people have complained about the weak crank... I weigh in at 240lbs and have gone over some preatty hairy single track on this bike and have had no problems. You cannot get a better value for your money.
Bike Setup: Stock frame, shock, wheels, saddle, FD. Upgraded RD to Deore LX. Replaced the tires with cheap Kendas. Oury grips. Crankbrother Candy pedals with Specialized mountain shoes.

Strengths: Haro V2 Frame is strong and light weight. Suntour adjustable suspesion fork, nice ride. WTB Raptor Tires, have good grip and take a good beating, so far. Pro Max Brakes, quick stopping power.
Weaknesses: Shimano V-Brake Shifter/Brake Lever Combo. Comes with cheap plastic outter shell which has alread cracked. Had to put some tape on it for now.
Bottom Line:
This is a great bike for the price. Haro is a brand thats been around for a long time in the BMX and Freestyle world and they put out quality products. There are a few parts I will eventually upgrade to fit how I ride. Most of the problems I have encountered so far with this bike are due to the fact that I ride very aggressive and push it to its limits. But on that same note this bike can take a good beating on the trails and on the pavement. I recomend this bike beginner to intermediate.

Strengths: good frame geometry. good drive train (acera, deore),exelent fork
Weaknesses: bars are way too small, crappy grips, crappy pedals, crappy tires these are all replaceble but dont let this deter u from the bike
Bottom Line:
wat i did was buy a good quality hardtail frame and drive train for under aus$600 and ive turned it into a down hill hardtail machine. i was broke after buyin it though and the time i had riding it stock i thoughrouly enjoyed. if any usa people are reading this i have been lead to beleive that the american model is completely different in the way of the stuff u get with it (lower quality) but i could be wrong. overall ive enjoyed my time on this bike and i continue to do so.

Strengths: Great breaks, very lite, great looking bike. Shifts are crisp and quick. Nice suspension. Very durrable and sturdy. Double wall rims made me feel more secure about trail riding. I love the saddle too. Spent many hours on the bike the first weekend I had it and wasn't sore as I would be from my road bike.
Weaknesses: None that I can find, but I'm not a searous rider.
Bottom Line:
Awesome bike, I love every minute that I'm on it. I haven't been able to get enough of it. Great breaks, great suspension, great looks, great tires, great saddle, great everything. For a novice rider, this is the best bike for the money. Awesome value, if you are a beginning rider in the market for a great but inexpensive bike, try out a V2, you won't be disapointed. Even for someone who has ridden for years, the V2 is a solid and outstanding bike, I know I am going to enjoy it for years to come. After testing mine, my brother wants one now. He is in the market for a bike, but has been riding for years. I tested my friend's $1000+ bike (don't remember brand) and I liked the V2 better. He even likes it, and admits his bike has several weaknesses in comparison to the V2. Like I said, if you want an awesome inexpensive bike, look no further than the V2.

Strengths: Its got a nice strong body, fairly good beginner to intermediate parts on it..been riding for a few months and its an awesome bike for the price.
Weaknesses: Don't like the pedals all that much, everything else seems fine
Bottom Line:
This is an excellent bike for beginners and intermediate riders, it has fairly good parts..altho some people complain about the fork, been good to me. If you want an excellent bike without spending $1000+, this is the way to go. I compared it to other bikes with equal and higher prices, but this one beat em all, from the parts to the feel.

Strengths: Great looking bike, get the blue and silver one, suspension works well, and the brakes are excellent. This bike seems to be pretty light weight.
Weaknesses: The rims on this bike really suck, they constantly go out of true. The crank is poor, and the front deraileur is allready out of whack only days after my first tune-up.
Bottom Line:
I really like the bike, it is overall very good, however the crank and rims should be upgraded because they both really suck. I have hauled ass on a few trails so far and have had no serious problems. To save money I would definitly recommend buying the v2 over the v3 or 4 because with a few simple mods it is just as good if not better and a whole lot cheaper. Other than the cheap aluminum rims and the weak crank, this bike is great for the loot.

Strengths: This bike rocks it's so light it's like riding a cloud down a trail, great beginner componets and its got discs mounts can you say indo, and you gotta dig the tires this thing comes with because they are deffinetly gonna dig down the trails. The guys at Haro really came through with this one.
Weaknesses: crank could have been a little more hi po
Bottom Line:
completley awsome deal, and for the money it's more than a great bike. my freind just bought one to after riding mine. IT ROCKS

Strengths: Cheap(and it come with Acera and Alivio derailleurs), quite light, very nice paint job.
Weaknesses: saddle can be improve
Bottom Line:
Very good bike for beginner mountain bike rider. I would highly recommend it. It will not burn a hole in your pocket and give you a good run for your money. The money you safe can be use for future upgrade such as the suspension fork. Personally, I use it very often for dirt trails and pavement. Singapore pavement is not so flat afterall with a good lot of up and down steps, and thick tree roots just within a 100m. And I use this bike and experience not much of a problem except that it can get you quite sore if you cycle under these condition for 10 hours (which I not long ago just did). In a nutshell, this is a great bike. I'm really looking foward to Haro 2003 bikes. They make bike that are of acceptable price and quality.
