The Torst
a Weekend Warrior
from Copenhagen, DenmarkDate Reviewed: May 16, 2004
Strengths: Strong bike, one really feels like giving it a hard time. It just wants you to take it to the xtremes. Paintjob TO DIE FOR, good components - except for the Magura julie brakes.Weaknesses: Maybe it´s a Dane-thing, but I bent the screw that holds the seatpost, too. Kind of a dissapointment - watch the vids here www.torst.webbyen.dk ...
The Julie brakes don´t really fit into the picture, they´re touringbrakes for f***s sake.Bottom Line: Perfect bike for weekend XC warriors (too heavy to go pro),
dual slalom (even hardcore and pro),
downhill (even hardcore hardtail DH) and
freeride (pretty hardcore too).
The bike´s really strong enough to take all you can give it, and it´s a real piece of eyecandy. Go for it, it´s the best hardcore-allrounder out there at that price.
Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month
Price Paid:
$1400.00
Purchased At: An expensive place

Crash kid

from Denmark (Europe)Date Reviewed: June 9, 2003
Strengths: The frame- seems unbreakable. I like the fact that the gearsystem is quite cheap cuz i'm going to smash it up anywayWeaknesses: I broke the 5 millimeter bolt/screw (don't know what it's called) holding the seat in position after about 4 hours of ridingBottom Line: If one want's to have a lot of low cost fun this is the bike.
In some way I like the mechanical breaks better as I can easily repair them when im out jumping/crashing.
The big handles well on big drops. I did a 10 ft drop with out any trouble at all ( but it would have been nice with a little rear suspention)
ride and enjoy.
Favorite Trail: drops and "easy" downhill (we haven't got any hill/mountains i Denmark)
Duration Product Used: 3 months
Price Paid:
$1100.00
Purchased At: a danish shop ( a lot of tax paid due to a stinking govenment))
Similar Products Used: Marin?, B1 extreme dual (http://www.beone-bikes.com), Scott (one of my mates fully)
Bike Setup: like Ruckus 1.0 but with Shimano Mechanical disc (avid)
