Strengths: Outstanding build quality, spot on geometry, unbelievable valueWeaknesses: noeBottom Line: The post below must be a joke. The Dean colonel is the best deal going in mountain biking. Build quality is top notch, the frames are built in house by John and the boys, not farmed out to overseas defense companies. Handling is far superior to the Klein Attitude I had before this bike and much more comfortable for long rides. By the way, Kleins are awesome but just don't compete with Dean

Strengths: Good strong, light frame. This would be good for road cycling but definetley not good for cross country.Weaknesses: Awkward gear shifting, poor stearing, chain constantly comes off if you lubricate it, but if you dont it snaps. I have snapped 2 chains in 1 month!!!Bottom Line: Not worth buying, honestly. This is probably the worst mtb ive ever bought. i used to ride a Gt Dirtchucker and it was probably the best mtb that ive ever owned. AND it was a hell of a lot cheaper than the colonel LX. it was also easier and quicker to maintain. Buy urself a Gt Dirtchucker - there only around $1350. If ur over 65 and wear incontinence pants, then buy this bike.
