Strengths: 1) Responsive, lightweight cross country chassis
2) Good parts spec -- LX and XT
3) Nice, fast handlingWeaknesses: Brakes -- Julie disc break-in is taking longer than expected -- still have some (slight) rotor drag even though I checked the spacing per Magoura instructions.Bottom Line: Tried a lot of cross country bikes before I decided-- saw this at Colorado Cyclist and thought I'd give it a whirl (or return it per their policy). Glad I did.
After 3 rides, it's been a very good experience. This bike is pretty light, very responsive, and has a good, go-fast cross country feel.
Previously I was on a hard tail whch was brutalizing me and my out of shape body on some of the NorCal choppy descents. Most of the trails here are fire road plus some rocks, so I didn't want/need a 5" travel slug bike that wouldn't climb worth a darn. I like to climb....
Plus, I'm a little old to do 4 foot drop-offs. Got what I wanted -- very fast, comfortable dualy bike for fast cross country / single track terrain. And I don't feel like my climbing has suffered at all -- probably the contrary. Descents are infinitely faster / more comfortable. I can feel this rig picking up speed as I head down hill.
Did try an extended test ride of a Specialized Epic and a GF Sugar 2+. Have to say that the Sugar was spec'd as more of a trail bike and felt slow. Also, a friend recently got one and seems to be suffering from a lot of chainsuck and other drivetrain issues. I liked it, but wasn't "sold"
Epic had a great suspension system and it felt fast, but with a really plush suspension. Only issue was that I was caught in the middle of the Specialized frame sizes and felt a bit awkward on the larger size bike -- like I never got settled into it. Nice bike, just wrong fit for me.
The Tomac Revolver was spot on. Seemed to have the go fast feel of the Epic (although no Brain system) but with a better fit. Couldn't be happier with the frame / shock setup.
Parts spec was good -- especially for the price. Julie's are obviously lower cost hydro disks and have been a little hard to adjust, but more stopping power than my prior canti brakes, so overall pretty decent. Kenda Kharma tires are great for NorCal terrain.
Will repost after I spend more time in the saddle. But, initial impressions are this thing rocks for true cc style riding and was a great value for money.

Strengths: very fast and responsive, lighter than my hardtailWeaknesses: weak paint, chips easilyBottom Line: I broke the bank on this bike in the fall and I am glad I did(my wife isnt) This bike is light, fast, and fun. It is an extremely efficient peddler although you do lose a little bit of efficiency on long, steep climbs. This years Revolver has the pedal platform shock which I suppose will fix this. I am perfectly happy flipping the lockout in these situations and it is only on long steep climbs. Otherwise, the suspension stays totally active and it feels like your riding some kind of Ferrari hover craft. The brakes are killer also. It would not be possible to score a better cross country/trail bike for under $1500.
*I have only ridden the bike for a month so I will get back if anything bad happens...I dont think anything will though, this bike seems really solid.

Strengths: Price, Components, RideWeaknesses: Paint chips off chain and seat stays too easily.
Standover Height could be better on the small.Bottom Line: My husband gave me this bike for our 9th anniversary. At first I was dissapointed because I liked my old Gary fischer Hardtail, but after riding and racing this bike I can't believe how much faster and more controlled I can ride. It climbs, descends, and handles like a dream and is pretty light (around 26 lbs). But I think my husband regrets buying it for me as I almost beat him at the Big Foot Challenge Race this weekend!
