Strengths:    It has good components, light compaired to generic store brands but of course, fast, good gear ratios, confortable frame, shifts smooth(about 5 minutes of tweaking the derailours).

Weaknesses:    none, at first i was iff on the fork and it ability to only adjust preload, so i was worried about bendng shafts... thats not gonna happen.

Bottom Line:
i would recommend this bike to anyone that wants something a little... no a lot! better than walmart or target brand bikes who will upgrade it. it can become a very high end bike with high end parts but as for stock, the price of it is an absolute steal. i searched for 6 months looking for a bike and then found this and was confortable in 10 minutes. good accessories, good frame with very strong geometry. overall... i would have bough two if i had the money. :p

Strengths:    The fact that the bottom bracket is on the rear triangle is music to my feet: no odd chain tension from bumps and drops, nothing but even power and cadence. A real winner that the cycling press is not trumpeting, but the design is outstanding for efficiency and control.

Weaknesses:    None. The frame is a little heavy (5.7) for a high-end XC rig, but builds into a sub 27 FS bike with SID fork and other quality components. Without directions, it was awkward at first as to the routing of cables; other than that, a great frame to build on.

Bottom Line:
Wow! What a great all around ride, predictable and stable and mighty efficient when pedaling, especially over bumps, rocks and roots because the chain never fights your power stroke, unlike all other designs where the BB is on the front triangle. My friends called it the Olds 88 (referring to an old luxury car)because they loved the plush and efficient feel to the bike, saying it moved forward easily and was more comfortable than their Fisher and Cannondale mounts. I like the smoothness of the geometry and have found I can ride over uneven terrain more efficiently and confidently, knowing I won't feel those small but weird kickbacks in pedaling as I hammer over obstacles. I had to raise the air pressure in my rear shock by 40 pounds from my previous bike; that's how much smoother and efficient it feels, and even at 200 PSI it has all the rear travel I need and more efficiency.
Buy this bike and upgrade it to reduce the weight to below 27 pounds and you have an outstanding XC bike. Amazing that you can get such a good design (which Schwinn holds the patent to) for so little money: let others buy the overpriced famous name frames.

Strengths:    2003 SCHWINN MOAB DS-1 Dollar for Dollar, the best value in a full suspension mountain bike. There is no chain slack when climbing. The bikes geometry provides excellent control
in all trail applications (soft dirt, steep descents, and aggressive climbs)

Weaknesses:    None worth mentioning

Bottom Line:
A $899 full-suspension mountain bike equipped from factory
with Hayes hydraulic disc brakes, WTB Raptor tires, Mavic
CXP-21 rims, Manitou Axel Comp front fork and a Rock-shox
Bar rear shock. Tru-vativ crank. If for no other reason, this bike should be purchased for it's stock components!!
I have been riding for three years and would recommend this bike to anyone who is getting into mountain bike riding. This is an upscale beginners bike that will not require any
upgrades for a long time. The only reason to upgrade would be for a lighter more expensive bike as one becomes more experienced.

Strengths:    The new ISO drive suspension is the same as the GT i-Drive. Frame tubing. Excellent custom butted 7000 aluminum. Parts package, Schwinn specs this bike out better than any other bike I could find, espeically for the price that I paid, at $1399.99. Great wheelset. Richey Pro parts and rear lockout on the suspension. Sealed pivot points. Different blue color! Kevlar tires. Excellent parts. Very solid riding bicycle. Easy to peddal uphill, and a monster going down. Bike handles better than expected in the trails.

Weaknesses:    None that I have found as of yet.

Bottom Line:
This is the best parts package I have ever seen on a stock bike for under $1500. After riding it for 3 months, I would have to say that I'mve very happy with the overall performance of the bicycle, and RICHARDSBICYCLES.COM steered me towards the best bike I could find for under $1500. I would have to say that thoes guys are right. Its a great bike for the money. BUY IT!
