Strengths:    this is a do it all bike with an indestructable frame, bike tips the scales at 40-43 lbs but the geometry makes it feel 10-12 pounds lighter, from the big hits to xc, the only limitation this bike has is it's rider,

Weaknesses:    didn't come with a chain guide, on some of the bigger drops you'll throw the chain, dosn't climb well but with a good set of tires and the 34t gear you should beable to power up most hills,

Bottom Line:
bottom line if you find one of the old monocue frames 2003+up for sale grab it,

Strengths:    Usable for everything. A true all day ride.

Weaknesses:    A bit lardy!

Bottom Line:
If you want a bike which you can ride in the alps, at home on the trails or on the northshore woodwork then this is the frame for you. Yes its not the lightest but then the other side of the coin is that you can throw it off almost anything with absolute confidence. This frame is bomb proof and I mourn the fact that I couldn't keep it as well as my new bike!

Strengths:    Everything, throw it off a cliff and it'll bounce straight back up. Soo tough. ALWAYS turns heads. coz it looks F@!#ing awesome. Feels amazingly light to ride.

Weaknesses:    Seat pole squeeks CONSTANTLY!!! had a little trouble with the gears. spent almost $400 (aus dollars) on the gears and guards alone

Bottom Line:
Best bike you could buy for that price. But if you're planning on buying 1 second hand take it 2 get checked out by a mechanic. after 1 thing breaks others follow.

BUT IT LOOKS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths:    unbreakable frame, amazing smooth ride, handles HUGE drops like you wouldnt belive, pedals are amazing.

Weaknesses:    poor choice of chain, a little noisy when hopping.

Bottom Line:
AMAZING bike. I havent found much it cant do(by that I mean I'm too chicken to hit). Definatly worth every penny and it rides amazingly. I was surprised how soft all the drops and bumps felt on this thing. I have yet to bottom it out, just a great bike for any kind of freestyle riding.

Strengths:    What do you sy when it's a great all around bike. Nothing really suck so nothing really shines....except maybe the bike. Comming from using v-brakes to the 8" hayes makes a world of difference. After using these brakes I could never go back. The seat, I found, is very comfortable on the climb up the hill. It seems to peddle and ride lighter than it is.

Weaknesses:    For the price....nothing. However if I had to pick somthing it would be the pedles which I changed before I took it to the hill.

Bottom Line:
Great....I can't believe the difference a good FS downhill bike makes. I went from riding a Specialized hardrock sport to this(vps drop) and now I only wish I had done it sooner. If your looking for a full suspension downhill bike that can take a beating, won't drain the bank, has great components that don't need immediate changing...this would be the bike. Bottom Line: Great bike
Great Price
Great Choice

Strengths:    Most obvious: price for what you get (that's $2300 Canadian dollars!). Solid design and build from a company with a good reputation for this type of ride. Great component set - what more do you need? Hayes 8" hyrdos are a sweet fit here. Solid Fox Vanilla R shock with rebound adjust.

Weaknesses:    I wouldn't call them weaknesses really, but to nit-pick a bit: personally, I think grip shifts suck (stock on front derailleur only). Interrupted seat tube can be a pain but there's work-arounds, like telescoping seat posts. Jr. T is a solid fork but why a 'custom' 5" (130mm) when the standard 2003 Jr T. is a 7" (170mm)? It looks an awful lot like the 2000 model Jr T. to me. Now that the 2004s are rolling out, 5" front/rear travel seems a bit on the small side (the '04 Atomik has the 170mm Jr T. and the A-line is now decked out with the awesome 888).

Bottom Line:
One of the cheapest big bikes out there with no sacrifices on the components. Rides smooth and can take lots of abuse. Get the suspension dialed in properly and she'll be very good to you. As for the short seat tube, it's worth it for the 4-bar link VPS suspension system. I mentioned the odd 5" Jr T. fork choice. I suspect it has to do with the geometry design and intended handling characteristics. I suppose it's easy enough to get another longer-travel fork but that might adversely affect the geometry/handling. That type of upgrade should be well researched first anyways (or check out the new 2004s from Norco). I'm currently looking into swapping to the new 888 fork (hmmmm, triple eight). 4/5 on overall only because there are better bike$$$ out there, but not by much!

Strengths:    Very solid all round bike. I'm 6'6 and 100kg and the large frame suites me perfectly. Its a smooth ride with plenty of forgiveness, its suitable for the big drops as well as the trail riding. The specialized 4 bar linkage system rocks as do the triple clamp Jt customs on the front. Hayes hydro's stop you on a dime, especially with 8'rotors. For the price($3100 $Aus) its specs are top shelf and you get an awesome bike for your buck.

Weaknesses:    No bash guard, love the Jt customs, but Jt pro's with 7' would have been better as being 100kg's sometimes on a big drop it will bottom out the front forks. It is a heavier bike. Will bob abit up hills (who cares though, its designed to go down not up )

Bottom Line:
Love it, well spec-ed bike for the price. Will take a sh#t load of punishing and ask you for more. Suites the taller bloke as it is not as cramped as some

Strengths:    solid frame forks rock and the rear fox is not that bad romic shocks would be better. Still a great vaule for what you pay. I rode my friends and sweet can handle any drop.

Weaknesses:    lots of bob but what can you expect

Bottom Line:
sweet bike but I did have some problems with the rear hub and it'snot the best climber but it;s a down hill bike and one of the best bikes to.If your an xc racer maby you should check your eye sight befor you press the mouse.

Strong ass bike! Love this bike. The frame is sweet and the 8" discs kick ass.

Weaknesses:    Front forks suck. There ok but why would they go and create a custom Jr.T2 for the bike when they could put on Normal J.Ts that have 2more inches of travel. I also keep bottoming the Jr.T2 out.

Bottom Line:
THis bike rocks. THe fork is ok but i am gonna get a better one. Its perfect for everything. DRops, downhill, and freestyle. THis bike is awsome. I havent gone a day without riding the bike since i got it. If u are a pretty intense rider with like little cash, this is a good bike to buy.

Strengths:    Like riding a Lazt=y Boy down trails. The geometry is perfect. Jr T's Rock.

Weaknesses:    I have to agree the seat licks. Im 170 and the thing is so bent after 4 good rides.

Bottom Line:
This bike is so fun. Havent thought twice about my purchase and trust me I did my reserch. This bike is last years Launch. Without the $$$$$$$$$ I am 5'7" and 170lbs and find the small just right. I rode the med and it is only 1"longer thats it. Only dif is the top tube. You cant go wrong just make sure you get the right size. I can through mine around so easy it Rocks.
