the chain had a defective link, which is suprising from Sram,but was fixed by putting in another master link.
the stock dj3's don't cut it, upgrade imediately.

easy fixes mostly, but were a pain in the ass

Norco has a great warranty and customer service, I snapped a 2002 Atomik frame and got this one for free, I live by the factory. The Hayes Hydros hold up pretty good, as does the frame. Specialized "Horst Link" rear end is very plush indeed. 8 inch Hayes discs needed no bedding in period they just worked straight away. I can now ride into turns faster and brake much later. Super stable on the downs soaks up everything you hit. Marzocchi Dirt Jumper III forks are adeqate but a slightly plusher fork will compliment the rear end. Truvativ 22 32 Chainset works very well, I don't miss the big ring at all. | | Weaknesses: | The only problem I have with the bike is the 40 pounds it weighs. It's a long slow slog up the climbs, but DOES ride a lot lighter on the flat than you would expect. Wheelset is excellent on a bike for this price and the brakes make the Hopes on my other bike seem Hope-less! As mentioned before the forks aren't the best.
Buy this bike if you want to improve your downhill and general riding skills. You'll be amazed in the confidence it inspires. But DON'T buy one if you're a cross country boy who weighs less than 140 pounds. You'll never lift it out of the van! *This really is a piece of off-road machinery. It will punish you for every
tarmac mile.
*Forks not quite as supple over the small stuff as the rear, but that's to do
with how you set it up - i wouldn't change them.
*Pedals - cheap, not *too* nasty though. If you're spending this much money,
you'll have your own favourite pedals anyhow.
*Watch out for cable rub, especially on the front disc hose. I used spiralwrap

madder stuff :-) It's heavy, but I still make it up every climb i could before, maybe just slower. I also make it up stuff i couldn't clean before, thanks to the suspension. Looked at Enduros - but ppl I know have had issues, and not as good suspension/brakes/wheels for the money.
You might worry about the lack of a big ring, but honestly you'll only miss it on tarmac downhills - middle 9th is as big a gear as you'll ever need.And there are many advantages to a bashguard - you try more stuff - doesn't matter when it goes wrong, more clearance, and keeps the oil off your legs :-) | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

Awesome rear end, very strong, plush and sweet action, can't beat a 4 bar linkage with horst link. Beefed up this year with the support bar on the front monocoque part. Awesome value. buy it. One problem iv had is that the forks hit on a cable route on the frame, when the forks are at 90 degrees, this has caused me too brake the valve on one of the legs, leaving me to wait alomst 3 months to get a replacement part which i'm still waiting for. My advice to anyone with this bike is to take off the dust caps on th fork leges and replace them with dustcaps from tubes so that they don't hit on the frame and brake ur valves, or cable route off. Any crash could cause this to happen if left like they r stock, plus u can't x-up.
