Strengths: Light Weight, Durable (Will service a Wreck), Price / Components, K2 Support, Components Manufactures Customer Support.Weaknesses: Shimano LX/Deore and Free-floating hubs: I have to adjust the derailleur and tighten the Hub cassette every 100 – 150 miles in order to maintain clean shifting. My older Shimano LX 7 required much less maintenance.
Front Forks: Manitou Skareb Comp, The upper arch had cracked clean through the casting riding downhill crossing a creek (Bike had 350 miles, 8 Months Old). K2 support had me contact Manitou. Manitou replaced the lower part of the fork under warranty (REI Bike Shop had to rebuild the fork for me.), I recived Great Customer Service from all involved.Bottom Line: This is my first full suspension bike and I love it.
This is a great bike for Beginner/Intermediate Riders.
Great bike for people over 200 pounds (When I started 6 months ago, I weight in 235 pound, Now I am weighing in at 195 - 200 pounds.)
Experienced riders may need to move up to a bike with enhanced components $$$.
The bike is responsive, jets up hills well and rockets threw all types of terrain.
As long as you maintain the Bike, the bikes will server you well. You need to pay particular attention to the Shimano LX/Deore and Free-floating hubs (Check them every 100 Miles) and the Manitou Skareb Comp upper arch (My bikes Manitou broke after 350 miles of Beginner/Intermediate trail riding in GA.
If you find one on sale, I would recommend buying it.
Bottom Line: If you ride hard, you will break items on your bike. K2 and Manitou have very good support for their products. Make sure you check you bike before every ride. When you maintain your bike, your bike will treat you well.

Strengths: Nice compnents for a good price.Weaknesses: Cheap fork, no disc brakes.Bottom Line: Really great bike for the price. (At least the one I paid) My first change to the bike was switching the fork, because of all the bad reviews I read on it. The Marzocchi I put on there is great, though. Also, I ended up putting on new wheels and disc brakes. (Mainly because I didn't realize that the fork I bought was disc only. no returns. oops)
All in all, I highly reccomend this bike If you can find it at a good price. It's definately a bargain.

Strengths: Light, Fast, No boobin, Price, K2 Customer ServiceWeaknesses: Fox Float rear shock has some quality issuesBottom Line: This is a Great bike. Being a climber I was reluctant to switch to an FS bike, but it has been worth evey penny. My Razorback is fast, responsive, steady, it climbs better than my hardtail and turns like if it is on rails. This bike is very light for a FS. I will recommend this bike to anyone looking at switching to FS for a reasonable price. This is awesome XC bike. I had a problem with the rear shock but K2 took care of it.

Strengths: Weight, rear suspension, looksWeaknesses: None really, but swapped out the flat bars for risersBottom Line: This is my first full suspension, and I was a little hesitant about changing over from a hardtail. I'm stoked I did though, this bike is awesome. I ride agressive XC, and this bike is perfect. It makes cornering so much faster, let's me get more 'pop' off roots/small jumps etc, and is just plain fun. I changed the flat bars to risers, and the fork from 80mm to 100 - 120mm, and it makes for an awesome ride. It's not for the 'big hit' rider, but so far has stood up to a few 2-3ft jumps/drops easily.

Strengths: Very light for a full suspension bike. I purchased the 3.0 and liked the components for the price.Weaknesses: The rear shock had to be replaced on warranty - it started to sound like a duck when I hit bumps without the lockout engaged. Otherwise no troubleBottom Line: I enjoy the having a dual suspension and the K2 is very rugged and can take a beating - I am 6'2" and 195 lbs. I looked at many different bikes and like the 'bang for the buck' factor that the K2 represents. The Giant NRS would be a close second choice for me but the pivot design of the K2 I expect to require less maintenance over time. 5 flamming terds for value, and 4 for the overall rating.

Similar Products Used: I looked closely at a Giant NRS but this bike was lighter, and the cross country riding I do in the Marin Headlands doesn't require the multilink of the NRS.
Bike Setup: Bike is a stock Razorback 3.0 with an upraded Rock Sid front shock - this helps to reduce the weight of the bike.

Strengths: Lite weight and rear shock lockout.Weaknesses: Needs more travel in the shocks for the big stuff I sometimes get into, but it works very well other than that.Bottom Line: Works very well for the type of riding it's make for. Well made with no problems so far. The 27 lb. weight and handle bar switch lockout helps on the hills. It's a good setup that gives me no excuses on the climb and a smooth ride on the downhill. Best in cross counrty for the price.
