Strengths: iDrive system works like a charm. light for a dual suspension frame. Cool color. Gt's warranty replacement was awesome!Weaknesses: I would have held on to this frame for a long time! except i had it crack in more than one place on three separate occasions.
1. It cracked at the top of the seat tube where the seat clamp a common problem with the older i drives
2. It cracked at the eccentric housing just above the welding like the reviewer below.
3. It cracked in the rear triangle where it is welded to the machined eccentric unit just near the main pivotBottom Line: For the three years i rode this bike i have loved every minute of it. It was smooth to ride and extremely responsive to the way i rode but having to replace it so many times under warranty was a great disappointment.
The fact that such an expensive mountain bike can fail in so many was ways is not what you expect when you are paying a premium price for a supposedly top quality product!
The iDrive system lives up to it reputation of being a good and bad system one being the system works and it works really well in reducing all the pedal induced feedback normally felt with most dual suspension systems, this in effect puts all the pedaling energy from the rider into the drive train and not the bobbing of the suspension itself!
All in all that being said i have nothing but praise for the guys a Gt Australia they replaced my frame on all these occasions.
Now i am waiting on my new replacement at the moment the new 2006 iDrive 4 1.0 so i will have to wait and see how the new model fairs hopefully it will not have any of the problems i have encountered with the iDrive Pro.....

Strengths: I bought it as a frame only so i can only judge the frame
Excellent suspension system nice decals and 3.2 inc suspension is excelent for competitionWeaknesses: none so farBottom Line: after testriding and doubting for months about what i should by for my next ride the idrive frame became my ride
i built it up custom so i could decide the parts on the bike it ride,s on rail the suspension works perfect it feels like you have more than the 3.2 inc the set-up is a little hassle because of the idrive system
i have ridden it only for a month so i will post a follow up review after the winter months

Strengths: very fast and very light this year as light as my santacruz SL with many improvements.clean welds, sealed eccentric nice paint holds up well.Weaknesses: should have disc brakes for price. part spec LX hubs?Bottom Line: hundred times better then previous I drives. Excellent all around bike able to climb and go down with the best of them would highly recommend.Had for over 6 months now with tons of miles and trails few crashes with no problems.

Strengths: rides smooth and climbes great, but after It cracks you might as well throw it awayWeaknesses: it can crack above the bottom bracket (or I-drive system) which causes the Idrive to unscrew itself by the regular foward pedal motionBottom Line: This is a follow up on my previous review. I bought this bike two years ago. It isn't a 2003, but buyer beware these things arent designed to last long. I weigh 140lbs and it cracked on me a month ago. I took it too the shop I bought it from and they said they don't deal with Gt/Pacific anymore. I called Pacific/Gt and they said they wouldn't honor my warranty, and that I could buy a new frame for $400, which is about what the frame is worth. If I were to get that frame for a whopping $400 dollars (what a crappy deal they offered) and try to sell it or build it back up it wouldn't even be worth my time with the amount of time it would take. I will never buy any product Pacific offers for the rest of my life because they don't have good customer service, and they don't honor a warranty for a bike that they should. I have ridden Gt bikes for over 15 years now and am dissapointed in their product and service, you wont see me riding one of their bikes ever again...that is for sure

Strengths: It works like they say, and handles good for a xc bikeWeaknesses: it is made of aluminum, i weigh 140lbs, and the thing cracked on the Bottom Bracket shell which also includes the I-drive system. I noticed the Idrive starting to unscrew it's self 15 miles into my sunday ride, the left side unscrews counter clockwise, so i tightened it...really tight, it unscrewed it's self again today. so I went to the LBS i work at and took it apart and found the crack.Bottom Line: this bike is fun to ride, untill it cracks, then you have to send it to GT/Pacific and hope they will honor your Bike's warranty. This happened one week before the first fall xc race I already signed up for

Strengths: Frame it's light, but can handle some rough technical sections, will see after a full 2004 season...stay tuned.
Fox rear shox works well 25lbs.Weaknesses: Creak in the seat stay area??? Frame made overseas?
Can Pacific Cycles LLC really check their product line ?? Rockshox 'Race' poor product
1.It flexes
2.Chopping sound when the forks rebounds to the top
I put my Sid SL back on, with Lock-Out !
3.LX hubs? on a $ 2000.00 bike?
Pacific Cycles LLC really needs to save money !
4. Pacific Cycles may need a new Director of Purchasing
Or watch over their staff !for product selection !Bottom Line: This is a great frame if it will last a full Season ??
The components for the I drive Pro were poorly selected
XTR rear derailleur? but LX Hubs ? they could have offered
the price at $ 1750 Retail and still made a large profit
margin $$$ and the Bike shops across the US still would have made profits too.... Would I buy this bike again,
YES-but frame only.

Strengths: This bike is nicely speced, and does come in light on the scales about 11.7kgWeaknesses: Rear travel is less on the Pro 3.2inches, wheres the 1.0 comes with 4.2. The forks are a good fork but lack travel. And seem to be quite fragile. Meaning wont last long.Bottom Line: This bike is a good bike for a Taiwanise Bike, The reason why I didn't buy this bike and went with the lower Speced Fisher Sugar, is because of the rear shock and the Front shock. The I drive works well but felt funny under foot. I come from a Motocross back ground and felt this setup was not for me. The rear is active but the crank stays at the same height which ultimatly defeats the purpose of a fully active rear end. Great consept but not for me.
