Date Reviewed: May 26, 2004
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1450.00
Purchased At:Madison Cycles
Strengths:Good Frame and good components
Weaknesses:Many different manufactures. Every part is a different manufacture.
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Magura Julie Disk Brakes XTR Rear Derailer, XT front Derailer, Rock Shox Silo SL U-turn fork
Bottom Line:Great bike for the price especially if you bought it as a left over 2003 model like I did. Brakes are great, Fork is great. Frame is real nice and well designed. I had some problems with the XTR rear derailer which turned out to be a binding cable housing. I am not really sold on the top pull system yet. The rear shock was replaced under warrantee due to a squeeking seal, it was dried out. I like the adjustability of the fork and shock. There is a good bit of pedal feedback when in the small ring up front but hardly any when in the middle ring. When the rear suspension moves you can really tell it when the pedal effort spikes. Best to move the shock lever almost all the way to the right when climbing with the small ring. This bike really rocks down hill. The brakes are awsome. I have very few complaints about the bike. I would buy this bike again.

Favorite Trail:Rowlett
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1495.00
Purchased At:Cycle Spectrum
Strengths:Light for such a beefy bike. 28 lbs
Weaknesses:None at all
Similar Products Used:Specialized Enduro, Cannondale Jekyll, Gaint VT2
Bike Setup:Truvative Stylo Team crank, XTR drive train, Maguar Disc brakes, psylo SL fork, X Fusion rear shock (Kick butt shock)
Ritchy Rims, Tires, Riser Bar and Headset.
Bottom Line:I do a lot of Urban Riding, Cross country and the occasional Down hill. This bike can do it all. If you want to Race cross country and that's it this bike is not for you. However, If you want a do all bike, I do not think there is a bike out there that beats it. The frame absolutley rocks and the paint job surprisingly looks really good. I wanted the popular black or grey bike and I ordered the bike without seeing it. But once it arrived the bike looked great. If you are depating, stop and by this bike, it rocks. Also, It is 04/04/04 right now and if you go to you local cycle spectrum you can pick this bike up for the same price I did. The bike usualy sales for 2300.00

Favorite Trail:freeride
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $2700.00
Purchased At:sport specialist
Strengths:beautiful bike, good feeling in various kind of trails, possibility of adjustment of the fork, geometry of the frame: perfect for freeride, xtr drivetrain is very smooth and precise
Weaknesses:brakes not so modulable and the rear gave problems in the mud, need more regolations in the rear shock
Bike Setup:rock shox psylo sl, x-fusion O2 prime air, magura julie, xtr drivetrain, truvativ stylo tean crank, ritchey components
Bottom Line:nice bike for a beginner, it gives me a sense good of security, I used it very intensevely with also some bad upside-down (thanks to the front break!) and it has no problem yet. It has one of the lowest price for similar products.
