The Zig-Zag was designed from the start with the needs of the dual slalom racer in mind. With the rise of the new four-man format, the Zig-Zag has found another arena to dominate. Relaxed angles, rugged monocoque construction, and adjustable travel make this frame adaptable to most any dual slalom or mountain-cross course. Though the Zig-Zag is most often set up with a chain-guide system, an 'E' type front derailleur mount is also standard equipment. Fox R/C reservoir shock is standard, optional Fox Float w/lockout also available.

Price Paid:

Strengths:
Great bike! Very maneuverable on switchbacks and twisties. Great standover heights for short dudes -- I mean tall dudes :). The bikes I had before the Zig Zag were great, but I couldn't get over how great the Zig Zag took the berms and switchbacks. Pretty ok uphills as well. A good all around bike, had triple chain rings, but could bomb on the way down.
Weaknesses:
Customer Service @ Foes! Customer Service @ Foes! Customer Service @ Foes! Customer Service @ Foes! Never returned phone calls despite leaving messages at different extensions; Never responded to Email; My local shop (a new Foes dealer) tried Emailing and Calling and had difficulty getting a response. When he was lucky enought to get through, either the 'person' who dealt with warranties was not available or when the shop got through to the person who dealt with warranties, the simple answer was a big resounding "NO!" to the crash replacement even though I wanted to upgrade to a more expensive frame.
Marzocchi Jr. T Pro (if you're in the market keep an eye out in parts), Shimano Rapid Rise XTR (the bomb), Kenda Kolossal 2.35 (good), Stan's No Tubes Tubeless System (right on! but buy from their website $59.00 compared to $80 - $90 at your shop! :}, Hope Minis (ok - prefer Hayes - parts for minis, like pads are a premium price); Fox Float R (make sure you get proper spring rate)
Bottom Line:
Bike = Excellent
Company's Customer Service (oxymoron) = SUCKS!
Who should buy it? Well someone who throws money away and doesn't care about warranties and will get a new bike everytime something goes wrong. Get this bike if you want to use and throw away or sell. Don't count on warranties. I would imagine their philosphy about customer service would apply to other Foes frames. Don't get me wrong, it seems that materials and construction are great (Zig Zag) others look awesome. Customer Service (again an oxymoron for Foes) needs to improve drastically. Value: Value has more to do than just how good the product is, but how service after the sale is. Foes has brought a Five Flaming Chiles down to two because of their service. Overall Rating: It will bite the big flaming 1 chili because when you come down to it, there is no one else out there except for you, your bike, and the manufacturer.
