Strengths: feels nice, plush and solid. great fork when it works. fatty stanchions. i like the design of the bolt on arch.Weaknesses: customer service! terrible, terrible! i will never buy their product again. be warned, they're very difficult to deal with, unfair and unkind. from day one, the fork wasn't built right, i was getting 4" of travel from a supposedly 6" fork. the lockout quickly died, and the rebound would spin. and occasionally the l.out would lock during a descent. very stupid. I DO NOT RECOMMENDBottom Line: when the fork functions properly, it is great. but who wants to spend around $600 to deal with p.poor customer service, and a semi functioning fork. buy a fork from a company who appreciates your business, and produces quality products. i'm very disappointed. i DO NOT RECOMMEND this fork to anybody. fork was used anyplace from xc to downhill, it is capable of being ridden uphill with ease,(this i do like)

Strengths: Machined and bolt-on crowns & brake arch, forward set crowns, external rebound adj., 35mm stanchions, option to get lockout or preload ajd. along w/ the rebound adj.Weaknesses: comes in 6" so those set on 7" forks might consider this a weakness but based on the other features mentioned below it became a non issue fast.Bottom Line: These forks are sweet. I bought the LR-1's b/c the 7" Jr's were making my bike too tall for me, ie. my boys were resting on the top tube. Called up Stratos and they set me up w/ these bad boys custom spec'ed to my weight and style. That meant heavy springs and 15 wieght oil for no extra charge, (cost 80$ total to do that to the Jr's). The LR-1 has forward set crowns that allow 180 degree turning and made my bike handle alot better than the Jr's. Also the the wide brake arch allows for a bigger tire w/ room, not so w the 03 zocchis which max at 2.5. One last thing, the damping mech on the LR1 is the same as the higher models Stratos. Kinda like getting super t or boxxer team dampening on the jr's or boxxer race. I've had them for 6 months and no problems what so ever. I'd reccomend them to anyone looking for dual crown forks in the $600 range. Good customer service at Stratos as well.
