hey every one who knows boxxer world cups i have a pair of world cups 2008 model, i bought second hand they are good besides one problem when u are riding the bike they work perficly fine but as soon as u get off and put a tiney bit of pressure and push down they fall thru all the way until they bottom out, then when u left the back up and put quick force down on them they start working fine again.the pressure in the fork is 150psi.is this normal for these forks?? does any one kno what is wrong with them? has any one had the same problem? any replys would be appresiated.

Strengths:
Lots of travel, nice silver stantions, nice rebound, good racing fork, weight is nice but could be a little bit better.
Weaknesses:
This fork is really ment for Downhill Racing, and thats not what I use it for....I use it for urban, dirt jumping, and some downhilling........the bushings go bad on this fork so fast u can even realize it....i used it for 2 and a half months and the bushings are already shot

Bottom Line:
This fork is a AMAZING racing fork....which is what it is really ment for. If you want a real freeride and things like that go get another fork instead of any of the boxxer series forks....go get a Junior T or a light weight fork not ment for downhill racing.

Quality build, low friction stanctions, light weight and customer service.
Weaknesses:
The problem with the stiction and adjustments is taken care of by black box upgrade. Instead of turning there back on the problem rock shox took care of it by parctically giving away these kits to solve the problem and with a little know how are super easy to install.

got it cheap because it was a last year close out. was going to get new team, but why when the problem is fixed so easily with black box upgrade. you can't expect to get a suspension product and have it work perfect right out of the box. tune it for your style of riding and body weight. get the correct springs, i run one firm and one xtrafirm, also use the correct oil levels and weight. with the black box upgrade i run 10 weight in the compresion leg and 5 weight in the rebound leg. for even more rebound sensitivity run 2.5 weight in rebound leg. as with the top crown i recommend going with a romic. quality machining and superior strength. you can also run an integraded stem. the fork is amazing and if you feel you need more travel boxxer have 8 inches in 2005.

too expensive for what you get, to short a service interval, not enought travel, not strong enough, lots of stiction, tops out erraticly, not getting all the claimed travel, not as light as 'they' say

What a waste of cash! I should have just kept the shivers on but I wanted to save some weight. The shivers work so much better. The boxxers came with too much oil in them from the factory so I was only getting 4" of travel. They sometimes sieze solid and you have to give them a really hard push to get them moving. They have loosened up a bit now and Ive changed to some better quality oil but they are still very knotchy and im only gettin 165mm of travel instead of 176mm. Mind you they are light... If you trying to lighten up you bike then go for the Teams, for the extra cash the WC's seem like a bit of a joke. You just cant beat the heavy old shivers for nice smooth fit and forget performance

Light, looks nice, new damping circuits are nice..... gold Ti Nitride stanchions....
Weaknesses:
Still suffers from stiction.... very expensive...quite easy to damage if you hammer it or ride street drops etc..not as reliable or as strong as Marzocchi or Avalanche and doesn't seem to perform quite as well...good race fork though...

Bottom Line:
If you want to spend a load of wonga on a fork that will be good for racing and only racing then go for it.... for the money there are better forks, ie Marzocchi Super T Pro and Shiver....the rockshox are just not up to being abused like the Marz.... I have seen to many pairs of Boxxers killed freeriding or the lower leg assemblies bent by riders who ain't that heavy.... I have tried them for a month and quite like the performance, but for the money they ain't that good...

This is a sweet fork. I would definately recommend it over a 2002 because the damping works better. I haven't tried any of the other 2003 boxxer line so I can't compare the stiction levels. This is a sweet fork, and if you have the option, I would definately say get one.
