Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $370.00
Purchased At:coopers cycles, uk
Strengths:sturdy, feels good, pegs.
Weaknesses:brakes are nothing, weight is confusing, tyres are wrong in the wet, attempting tricks never used to be this hard, but only due to the silly weight and useless brakes.
Similar Products Used:haro '84 freestyler
Bike Setup:when i have the time; nos and skyway.
Bottom Line:fine for beginners, who understand they will have to invest in brakes and tyres immediately, good solid bike but too heavy for regulars.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $340.00
Purchased At:Salt Water Magic
Strengths:The crank works excellent, the stem, the rims, and the frame but is heavy i think its like 32 pounds.
Weaknesses:The brakes are crappy the front brakes only work for a couple of days after that they suck. The bike is 2 heavy. The bars arent that big but cut them a couple of inches and that will help when your doing a indo and you want to bail out believe me
Similar Products Used:Haro Backtrail Nyquist X3, Haro Backtrail X2, and DK General Lee
Bike Setup:Tighten some nuts, get chain tensions, some tires and brakes.
Bottom Line:The bike feels good when you ride, looks awesome but you should should put some detail into it.

Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:Great bike to do stunts on. Rims are great. Mine came with solid axles supposed to have hollow, that is good. Great pegs, great handlebars. Great on the trails too.
Weaknesses:Crappy brakes don't stop that good. Grips wore out the first month. Multisurface tire on front stinks cannot not turn on a little bit of sand on the street. Sprocket bent and I haven't hit it off of anything.

Bike Setup:K-Rad front tire, 2 Chaintensioners, Different chain, Haro Smallblock pedals
Bottom Line:A great bike for anybody!!! If you like haro buy it. Great value for the price. Add a K-Rad front tire for extra turning capabilities. Get the bike in SG Blood Red Really Shines when waxed. Cranks are great no flex!!!

Date Reviewed: January 11, 2004
Favorite Trail:N/A
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:Bungays Bicycle and Snowboard Shop
Strengths:A good looking bike, with some good components. Good bike for a beginner, but not for hardcore riding.
Weaknesses:Heaviest bike known to man. Very hard to maneuver on street stunts. Brakes fail easily and often. The crank clicks loudly most of the time. The disc is too weak to do anything without bending. The forks are weak, and require replacement soon after purchase. Both axles are weak, and doing grinds can be difficult when the axles are bent straight up.
Similar Products Used:Diamondback Fester, Haro Zippo.
Bike Setup:Cut the bars down a couple of inches, upgrade to better tires and grips, and you're on the road.
Bottom Line:Haro makes mostly good bikes, but this one is a bit of a dissapointment. Weight is important in a bike, and while designing this particular bike, the good people at Haro Bikes Inc. forgot this. If you're a beginner, buy this bike. If hard core riding is what you do, go for something else.

Favorite Trail:The Burnside
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $330.00
Purchased At:Bike and Hike that cant assemble bikes to save there lives.
Strengths:Looks awesome, has a front brake, good ride feel.
Weaknesses:Is heavy as hell. This is the heaviest bike I have ever ridden.
Similar Products Used:2003 DK general lee
Bike Setup:broken and damaged.
Bottom Line:In the first mile of riding this bike the loose rear axle crashed me landing a 50/50 grind shaving off parts of my hide.

The bottom bracket clicks and clacks under load like it has a fractured bearing race and is about to let go.

This bike does not stop. The weak brakes combined with the weight and super slick rims make stopping an unpredictable and frightening experience.

The tires are great in the dry, are downright DANGEROUS in the wet. I am not kidding, they let go in light sprinkles unpredictably and with no warning or feel.

The freewheel has a bad pawl, wich means that once in a while the crank turns an eight of a revolution like the chain is broken. In a road or commuter bike you can live with this, but when you are manualing along the coping of a half pipe, and try to torque the front up to correct while dropping back in, and all you get is spin, and you land on the top tube square on your nuts after your feet slipped off the pedals due to the broken chain like effect, and half the people watching run over to you to admnister first aid and the other half laugh, it gets a little old. Freewheels are like, what, about 90 years old? for a $330 bike I expected better.

The fork bent. Dont even think about doing stuff you see Dave Mirra do on his bike, this bike will not take it. I took an inch out of the wheelbase while landing a nose wheely after rolling out of a 6 foot half pipe with about a foot of air. The landing was so mild I had to crush the front brake to stall out on the nose before rolling in again. The forks are noticable bent now.

I am not a big guy, 5'9 and 175#, more importantly, I am 30 and this is the first time I have been on a BMX bike in 15 years.

HARO IS JUNK. THERE ARE WAY BETTER BIKES FOR THE MONEY.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $230.00
Purchased At:www.pictoncycles.co.uk
Strengths:I've not been in the BMX seen for long, but I've ridden enough freestyle bikes to now that this Haro bike is pretty special. Yeah you can get better, but when compared to bikes at the same price and over it has much better components and more features. its uncommon to find a sub 250 quid bike with a 3 piece crank and such sweet brakes! It rides and feels grate, a little on the heavy side but that don’t bother me cuz I now it'll survive a nuclear strike!
Oh, and one last thing get it in the Putty colour it looks well cool!
Weaknesses:Non of any significance. Could be a little lighter but that’s not a prob if your not a midget, no offence to midgets.
Similar Products Used:Huffy One Ton, Hoffman 900, Python Fury
Bike Setup:Pump the tyres up to 70 psi, it loves it!
Narrow handle bars with a XL stem.
Bottom Line:If you want a all-round capable that handles well and don’t cost the earth to boot go for the Mirra 540 it wont disappoint, well I wasn’t anyway.
