Strengths:    Cheap, Only entry level WSD bike around, light, fully upgradeable and has disc mounts. Pretty ok componentry, Deore Rear Mech is 100% reliable.

Weaknesses:    Shimano Acera Front Mech is useless, Front fork a bit spongy, Jones Tyres terrible in the wet, Corvair Rims dink easily. Brakes not brilliant but I haven't got around to replacing them yet.

Bottom Line:
This bike was the best bike for the money I tried. I am 5'2" and so top tube length was always an issue. This bike is perfect for me in that respect as the top tube is short enough to get me over the handlebars. It feels a bit twitchy going down long descents, probably because the brakes it comes with aren't all that great and so control is a bit of problem when it gets steep. But the bottom line is that you can replace the crappy bits you don't like with no problem at all and end up with a bike that fits and will last. Value 4 because I reckon that Trek could have done a bit better with componentry, 5 overall because I really like this bike.
