Strengths: Light, light, light and wonderfully balanced, great handling--like having a new best friend on the trail.
The Wylder Juliana saddle (ti rails) is the most amazingly comfortable saddle for both road and mtn. bike
Weaknesses: Ummm, we're still in the honeymoon phase.Bottom Line: Oooooh, what can I say? This bike is such sweet prefection--light, agile, nimble, zippy, and stable all at once, and it really likes to be ridden. Downhills are demystified and uphills less formidable on this bike and it has that magical quality where everything feels just right. I am tall (5'9") and have a long torso, but the large frame is a perfect fit with ample standover height. And (drum roll please) I have not for one second missed having full suspension. I demo'd both the Juliana Superlight and the Cushtail, and knew right away that the Custail was the bike for me.
Women in Austin riding the Juliana Cushtail (ranging from trail riders to racers) are incredibly pleased with the ride, as you will be if you get this bike.
So--five chili verdes in all categories.
Favorite Trail: Walnut Creek
Duration Product Used: 3 months
Purchased At: Colorado Cyclist
Similar Products Used: Proflex 856, Specialized Hard Rock
Bike Setup: Super X kit with Duke Race, Avid 7 Brakes, LX/XT, Velociraptor tires, Rock Shox suspension seatpost. Thought I would miss the Hutchinson Pythons, but the Velociraptors provide great traction on climbs.
The Duke Race is great but there is a learning curve on setting the negative and positive air pressue.
