Bottom Line:I really like this bike as it easy to use on the dirt jumps and streets. It is really good for trials from the shape of the frame, you easily progress on the bike. It is also good for riding about and xc, you just need to raise the seat and its really good. I have not tried it for downhill yet though.

Strengths:Tight Lookin, Jet black, strong from a bit heavy, good for a beginning rider starting to do dirt jumps and smaller drops.
Weaknesses:My rims are twisted and they rub against the brakes to make the worst sound ever. Judy TTs arent good enough once u start improving and youll need to upgrade.
Bottom Line:This a good beginner bike. If your an advanced rider and do the jumps and drops I recommend either buying a new two 50 4 Hun or a VPS 4*4, any of those or u could buy a one 25 like me and plan on upgradeing the fork and the brakes which would lead to be more than a two 50

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $800.00
Strengths:-Chromo cranks are so stiff/strong
Weaknesses:-stock headset sucks Switch it out when you buy, so many people have problems with this one
-170mm length cranks are pretty short
-stock rims aren'ttoo great
-bars are short
-chainguide bends easily
Bike Setup:2001 z5 (blah)
Kujos
fsa pig headset
D521 and Rhyno
everything else stock
Bottom Line:All you whining about the crappy fork (Judy TT's), how much did you spend? Most companies wouldn't even think of including a little cush when your paying this little.

bike is really sweet, sooo much better than my the old XC angles I am used to.

5 for value, you cant get much better than this for how much you pay. 4 for overall, there are a few simple things that a couple bucks could have made better when norco specced it.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1085.00
Purchased At:cycle science
Strengths:The frame is strong and perfect size, some people knock the forks but there not that bad even though im upgrading, the seat is wicked
Weaknesses:ive already badly buckled the rims (front worse than rear)
the tyres are wearing very quickly, bars and stem look bad , shifter gives you a sore thumb, i think you can only fit a 2.1 in the back with a lizard skin on
Similar Products Used:friends planet-x slalom, khs b*i*t*c*h, gt palomar
Bike Setup:stock as a rock , but upgrading brakes to powertools, forks to z1 wedge, bars to powertools, and new rims soon dont know wat yet, thick tyres front 2.7
Bottom Line:Good value bike if u want a starting bike its good for you
but if your after something a bit better go for the 250 its only 500 bucks more and u get hayes marzochi dirt jump2, funn components (heaps better)
heaps easier to mono .
but norcos got some wicked value bikes this year like the vps team dh pay 6500 for that or spend 11000 for a santa cruz which is only a bit better bugger that buy a norco.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1725.00
Purchased At:RIDESHOP
Strengths:the frame is very heavily gusseted, I am going to do my best to brake it, the forks are also good I changed them too "psylo" XC's the cranks seem very durable.
Weaknesses:I keep smacking my arse on the rear wheel, I am only now getting used to slopiness of this bike, it's a little heavy but thats what you want in dirt/slalom bike. Also the rear brakes don't seem to work that well, they just don't stop me, it could do too the angles n' stuff. The size of the bike seems a little small (14.5) but I can always get a new frame
Similar Products Used:I rode a 'specialized hardrock' and I nearly destroyed it.
Bike Setup:umm the bike is the same as on the website (norco.com) the only thing I changed were the forks, this was for two reasons #1 my friend rode them and they are pretty crap #2 it saves me upgrading down the line when I get better.
Bottom Line:From what I have ridden this is a tops introductery jump/slalom bike, hopefully it can take alot of crap. I suggest you also change the forks if you get one. It doesn't ride street all that well with those tyres but point it downhill and you have your self one "ball-breaking" time of your life ride.

all of the components are down graded

Purchased At:trade (2001 model)
Strengths:2001 MODEL: geometry, paint job, reinforced disc brake mount, reinforced everything
Weaknesses:have to disconnect the cable from the disk break if you want to use the one bose that's available. I just use zip ties.
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:Z3 qr20, 24" rhynolite rear, 26" front. Hayes hydros front and rear, Kore DH stem, Syncros bar, Hussefelt cranksthe rest doesn't matter.
Bottom Line:The frame is heavier than my previous GT Ruckus, but because it's smaller it jumps even higher. Geometry is great, the extremely low seat post clamp makes the bike rooooomy, plus great for beginner trials. Takes drops without a problem and fits a 24/2.6 Gazz with safe clearance.
