Strengths: Light and predictable. Easy to pedal and climb
Weaknesses: Seat post drops onto shock
Bottom Line:
I have now owned a team strike carbon for 10 years. I have other more exotic rides, but I have to say even today this is the best all round bike I have ever owned. I love it. Thank you Scott.

Strengths: Light
Weaknesses: The bearing of the rear forck makes a noice. Even with special made bearing spanners I could not make it absolutely quiet.
Bottom Line:
One of the best bikes I have ever had. Scott gives a very good service. After 16.000 km I say good by to him and purchase a new frame.

Strengths: LIGHT!!!! (10,8 kilograms with discs), very good climber, good on light dowhills, scott warranty and service in BRAZIL (believe me, I have 3 for endorphin frames...).
Weaknesses: Short top tube, carbon lifetime?, not a good on fast turns on tight singletracks, cause me a mess to use a XTR 46 teeth crank (changed for 2003 44 teeth last month), no option on my model for a rear lockout on the bars...
Bottom Line:
After one year using the previous model G-zero world cup (aluminun frame) I chage for the strike, and Im very happy with. The bike is damm light (10,8 kilograms with discs), my friends envy it, and for long distance races the bike is a dream, no more back pain, the only limitation of the design is on steep and long dowhills, but this is a lightweight XC intended bike... and the bike is soo good on uphills that rarely I use the lockout option... the only real problem is the price (U$ 2,220.00 for my frameset) higher than any of the others contenders here in Brazil (Santa Cruz, Cannondalle and trek fuel).
Similar Products Used: Scott endorphin, 2000 Scott G-zero World cup (aluminun frame)and Santa Cruz superlight...
Bike Setup: Frame with the optional scadiun swingarm and sid lockout on rear, full 2003 XTR group (including discs), mavic crossmax disc, sid sl on front, Titec stuff and salsa seatpost.

Strengths: Very low maintenance (everything is sealed inc Cables), Strong Frame, Very light for full suspension, accelerates like it has a motor, extremely comfortable, lockouts on front and rear, best looking bike ever made, all my mates want one.
Weaknesses: Very expensive (especially in UK), so called limited life span of Carbon Frame, Paintwork on frame scratches really easily, Carbon frame also bruises easily so take care when throwing it against things, Magura Brake levers suffer from long travel before engaging brakes (pump up), Fast Fred Tyres are not for muddy conditions period!
Bottom Line:
I really like this bike and it suits my riding XC perfectly. I have had good reliability (apart from the pump-up on the Magura Brakes).
If I were to make my decision again, I would still probably buy this bike, it really is good.
I understand the cornering issue some other owners have made but I don't race this bike so it isn't a problem yet.
Make sure you are comfortable with the life span of Carbon Frames before you spend this sort of money. It may or may not bother you but its best to make an informed decision.
On long smooth downhills this bike is great and builds speed quickly, however its like a car without its top gear! you know it can go faster but the gear ratios wont let it
Bike Setup: Standard 2002 model with Easton Monkeylite XC Carbon risers, Hutchinson Scorpion UST Tyres

Strengths: Light, rigidity, one piece cable (top for mud), simplicity, differents versions, solidity, excellente efficency, look...
Weaknesses: no crank upper than 44, fragility of the frame if it falls on rocks!
Bottom Line:
After 1000km. I had a jekyll, and a endorphin before. This the best bike I ever ride, it's the ultimate xc weapon, quick on up hills and a bullet in dh.
It is true that this bike as not a good cornering but only in very tight corner on steeply downhill, but for all the rest you will have the fastest. I did'nt meet any problems (I ride harcore). This bike is made for tracks like alps (long distance, lost of up/downhills, with bad track)

Strengths: Light, fast, solid.
Weaknesses: Can't put anything larger than a 44 as a front chain ring. Too light for serious downhill action.
Bottom Line:
Awesome cross country performance. However, avoid this bike if you do a lot of downhill.
Switch to 700C's and road gearing on the rear, lock out the shocks and you have a really good road ride if you don't mind flat bars.
RockShox lockout mechanism still fails after 20-30 hours of riding, but what you gonna do. This happens with Psylo's as well. Anyway, they're great shocks when they work.
Bike Setup: Per mfg specs except: 185g selle seat, eggbeaters, XTR front.

Strengths: the simplicity of the all thing with no need to have complex . the efficiency, the confort, the performance... needless to say anything more !!!
Weaknesses: the carbon however strong it may well collapse in the event of an incisive strike !!! Yop that´s ironic but the Strike frame are strongly allergic to strikes !!! Because of this be aware of Scott´s warranty `cause you may bump into a surprise !!! Full warrants are not as full as you thought it to be.Miserably
Bottom Line:
A bike just beautiful to look at; A bike just excellent to ride upon; A bike confortably enough not to miss you sofa;
Similar Products Used: None, the closest i´ve tried was my previous FS, a grisley Nimbus but very far away from Strikes performance
Bike Setup: Mavic X-max ust, Pace rc 36 pro class 2, Rock Shox dual air XC lock out, race face prodigy xc, XTR deraileur, magura HS33 brakes

Strengths: Like rigid bike, no vibration to my body, good up hill and down hill.
Weaknesses: The chain alway hits the alloy triple butted swing arm if I shifted to big gears (44 - 18). Noise when I pedal with heavy gears but I always put oil into joints.
Bottom Line:
I am planning to sell all my FS bikes and keep my Scott Strike HMF because the agent in Singapore said only 5 pcs in the world.
Similar Products Used: Cannondale Raven, Santacruz and Principia MSL PRO.

Strengths: Rides like a dream, Fast on the uphills. Powerfull brakes. Very lightweight for a full suspension XC bike.
Weaknesses: None!!!
Bottom Line:
The bike is a real pleasure on downhills, saving my lower back. I had wondered how it would perform on climbs, and have also been surprised at how easy it is to spin up the big hills. Dispite having a lockout on the shock, I'm not even using it. If you are a cross-country rider, this frame could be exactly what you are looking for.
Weaknesses: the weakness of the frame, asspecialy by cornering
Bottom Line:
I am very disapointed about the bike. It rides well even fast.It climbes very well.but on the track when it goos very fast I am scared to go in a corner. the whole frame is shake like a snake.this is also when you thake the steering bar and put it fast left to right and back. when you see the big tubes of the frame you do not expect it.and the rear suspention has to less travel then a klein is some thing diferent.
