Strengths: Everything, except the chainguide! This bike is amazing, I've ridden it hard since the day I got it and nothing has failed! I also don't feel any play in the Thrust Link.
Weaknesses: The chainguide sucks, I upgraded to an MRP MiniMe. It has run buttery smooth ever since.
Bottom Line:
Wade Simmons rode this bike in the Rampage! Need I say more? I love this bike and I will have this bike until the end! Buy this bike, you'll never regret it.
Similar Products Used: Specialized Big Hit (good for price), Santa Cruz Bullit

Strengths: Nice bike with great design. Super plush rear sus design but creaks badly. High maintenence bike.
Weaknesses: Singapore Distributor Sucks big time with no knowledge of bike setup, was told by local riders to avoid this shop but the crave for this bike is irresistable. bad service and only push products they have not the suitability. got it in melbourne at city bikes instead.
Bottom Line:
Good bike for hucking but avoid buying in Singapore. just my experience. bear with the niso from the linkages. Bearing not durable.

Strengths: This bike hauls its in my opinion the best dh / freeride that i ve ever ridden. The suspention is super plush and responsive. I tell u whatever rm is doing in there shop in vancouver beats me but i say keep up the good work.
Weaknesses: i cant think of any besides the price being a little more because they are handbuilt in Canada and have superier quality.
Bottom Line:
f#$%^#g awsome bike if ur thinking of getting this bike quit thinking and just go try it at least.

Weaknesses: the components arnot great so i upgraded a couple
Bottom Line:
crap bike ok frame but good with better components. i took it of a 6 footer and the sus nearly compressed half way. my friend called agelacon (weird name i know) took it of a 7 footer cor it was a massive drop i saw this other guy at peshurst with an RM7 he was quite tall and was doing ten-fifteen footers he had monsters on the front and risse j5 on the back. if you ever see him hes got a 661 full bravo say hi from me alaster he doesnt know me but hey
Favorite Trail: the down ramp at peshurst the wooden ramp that goes on to the dual course but its to scary

Weaknesses: The chain guide is the only flaw in this dynamic creation. For those of you who hate a noisy bike, the black spire is not for you. If you ride on the last two easy gears a horrible dragging clanking noise is created from the chain rubbing the inner plate causing both chain & inner plate to wear out............NOT GOOD! And I would also loose the chain in the system as well either by back pedaling or just doing drops.
Bottom Line:
This is a great bike. She screams for abuse and takes it like no other. Great all around DH & Freeride bike. Beauty & the beast in one spectacular machine. With a RM7 under you, Who needs wings?

Strengths: everything, this frame would not break if hit by a truck. The geomatry is perfect, their thrust link is the best sus system ive ridden, the sus stroke is smooth and buttery through the first half of the travel then gets harder(progressive)for bigger landings. Which makes it an awesome dh and extreme fr.The paint job is better than the M1's. The linkage on the trust link is nice and burly. The bearings have perfect response in and out of corners and rocky sections.
Weaknesses: chaging gear is pretty poor, but that could just be my shifter. Rear mech hits trust link but easy to fix. Chain deveice is s**t unless a differnet back plate is put on, then it is near perfect.
Bottom Line:
this bike can take anything, Ive just taken it off a 12 foot drop rode out clean.I used to have the stab 99, it was a great bike but with this extra inch on the rm7's rear sus in proggresives makes the bike crush technichle sections, and overclears big drops with ease.It so nice that it didnt take long for my mate to be convienced by its true power!!

Weaknesses: rear derailer hits thrust link but is an easy fix.
Bottom Line:
Buy this bike if you want bombproof! Doesn't climb great but your on the wrong bike if you are looking for speed up. The biggest I had dropped before this bike was 5ft. First ride out 8ft was no problem, sucked it right up. Second ride was 10-12ft, bike no problems. You will break before the bike.

Strengths: This thing is amazing. The linkage gives one of the plushest rides I have ever felt and it pedals like a dream! I ride into work (my LBS) each day and its like 5 kms. Bottom Line the thing is great. Great speced parts, no rocky knock-off parts to reduce cost, all quality titec, shimano and RF gear. Super T is also amazing. Great bang for the buck.
Weaknesses: A pretty bad chainline if you try to run anything other than a chainguide (triple rings) problem solved by using the guide. Not a huge problem. Also, not enough clearance in the rear on 24' wheels (also sloved by running a 2.6 instead of a 2.7 or a 26' wheel). Lastly the chain is aweful close to the stay. But what are you gonan do? None of thse are weaknesses they are just TINY flaws that Rocky can fiz for next year. NO PROBLEMS>>>A GREAT RIDE<<<<<<
Bottom Line:
Holy God people, you do get more than you pay for with this rig. Amazing pedaler (I can out sprint my buddies for almost 2km's when their riding full XC bikes!!!) If you got the cahs hook it up fa shizel with an RM7DH!!!!! Prolly one of the best rides around. I've hit up to 8 footers to complete flats and this thing takes it all in stride while begging for more abuse. BUY THIS BIKE!!!!!! Oh yeah, dont listen to the guy below complaining about travel and the linkage washers.....if you actually take apart the piviots you realise that there is alot more holding it together than just a washer! BUY THIS BIKE DUDES ITS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ALL FREERIDERS AND DHers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths: Everything. The thruslink supension is the best system i have ever riden on! All the stock items are sweet and the bike pedals like a dream compaired to most d/h rigs!
Weaknesses: 1. The chain guide is a little loud but that isnt a big problem. 2. A little pricy but you get what you pay for!
Other then that the bike is amazing.
Bottom Line:
This bike is a dream. It performs off of everything and never stops to complain. The derailleur hits Thrust Link hard so i had to put an old tube between the link and the XT. A simple little fix! If you have the cash DEFANATLY buy this bike it is worth it. Rocky Mountain put a lot of time and effort into designing one of the best bikes on the market today!!!!

Strengths: Bomb Proof frame, good parts for price paid, Thrus link Suspension Butter, peddles better than most bikes in its category, makes eight feet flat concret landings feel like landing on Air-Suspention Soaks up all the impacts, the high BB will comes in handy for Plattekill and Connecticut rides this summer, Thrustlink Suspension Much stronger than it looks, To understand suspension concept you must first ride this Machine.
Weaknesses: Chain line was atrocious. Problem solved by running a smaller BB. little Vertical play in the rear suspension-called the guys at RockyMountain. They explained everything -the play was designed into the thrustLink for needle bearing clearance. The guys at Rocky are really helpful. Excellent customer service.
Bottom Line:
My bike is the 2001 model. The Frame is the same as the 2002 model. Bottom Line, This bike Rocks, I call it my Kick ASS RM7. The bike has been living up to its name and reputation on and off the trails. Rocky Mountain bicycles cost more than most other bicyces because they are hand made in Canada. A lot of detailed Craftsmanship goes into each bike. Its not mass produce in China or Taiwan, I have been riding my RM7 for the past two months and my confidence to try higher jumps and drops keeps increasing with each new ride. I don't ever have to worry about the bike falling apart after a big drop. I just think about whats next. This one is definitely a keeper. The pros far out number the cons with this bike. If Wade Simmons' ride it i have no problems with it. If you are a hardcore free rider and you are in the market looking for a good reliable bombproof bike that looks a little different from the rest and you have the cash to shell out, this is the bike for you. If you have a personal issue against Rocky Mountain Seek Therapy otherwise shut up and go ride.
