Strengths:    Fox Vanilla is very comfortable riding
Brakes work great
Best uphill bike i've tried

Weaknesses:    Fork is average-judy cc100mm
Shifters need some upgrading

Bottom Line:
This bike is a very comfortable, high end bike that needs only attention to a few components, but for the price you pay it is better than almost all bikes i've tried.Whether you are an average mountain biker or a demanding mountain biker,i would suggest this bike.
This bike takes all bumps like smooth pavement(Thankyou Fox vanilla) and has a strong frame that won't let you down. This is on the line between trekking and high performance montain biking. This bike is also insane on uphill climes.

Strengths:    A Good entry level full-suspension XC Bike. Nice Frame geometry. Nice suspension Design. Decent components.

Weaknesses:    A bit more on the heavy side for an XC bike. The Component selection is on the low end but thats what make this bike affordable. buy with the intetion of upgrading your components. Especally the sucky front shock!

Bottom Line:
This is a really good bike that gets you into a nice four bar type FS frame. They have to use Deore type components to keep the cost down. This is a bike perfectly suited for an entry level FS xc rider. As you get better -upgrade your stuff- The first thing to go is the front shock then the wheels. but as all things are considered this is a nice bike for someone to get a great ride with a few upgrades. rocky mountain is the Canondale of Canada. Nice handmade frames with great geometry. a Good Bike worthy of the rocky mountain name. a good value 5 flaming cactus chillis with an over all of four for low component selection but mostly for a weak front fork.

Price Paid:    $1400.00

Purchased At:   Rented at Bike shop in Manatou,CO

Similar Products Used:   Cannodale, Schwinn Rocket 88 - GREAT!

Bike Setup:   this bike is a decent rental I got for riding in colorado springs. It was a pretty good FS type bike- it had Deore shifters and drive train -fair at best. The front shock was a judy c or someting at least it was 100mm but heavy and and not stiff. The rear shock was a FOX vanilla coil so it was just right. I brought my own peadls so I liked them.

Strengths:    Pretty light, climbs well, decent on downhills, supsension soaks up smaller hits no prob. Plus built in the land of the Nothern Peso - cheap like borsht for Yanks

Weaknesses:    Not a great shifter, but you could probably tweek it

Bottom Line:
Entry level XC FS bike - Good for small hits and good all round bike. Wouldn't buy it if you are thinking about more hardcore trails as it's shifters aren't the greatest, and it won't likely take the big hits if you are a larger rider. If do buy it, look at a size up...RM's seem to be a little small - my demo was a 19", I'm just over 6' and the seat post was way too high. Part-time casual rider who has limited coin but wants a decent ride - this is a good bike for you. Otherwise, look at a Slayer.
