Strengths:    Good full suspension frame design. Fun to ride.

Weaknesses:    Front Acera deraileur. Often won't shift to large chainring.

Bottom Line:
The bike has been a fun bike to ride and worked great except for the Front deraileur. Attention needs to be paid to keeping the fork and rear suspension greased. The suspension absorbs the bumps and has good control. Have been riding on mostly single track with some good climbs and downhills and some very rocky technical sections. Recreational riding not competition. Would recommend the bike for recreational riding. It works well enough to be worth upgrading components as needed.

Strengths:    Very Strong frame, nice rear suspension with adjustable 3 or 4 inches of travel

Weaknesses:    Bit heavy to climb

Bottom Line:
This bike is a great buy for anybody into downhill! You can do huge drops and if the suspension is set right you won't bottom out. The frame is a little on the heavy side but hey, you don't need to really climb anything if all you are into is downhill. The bike is also pretty good for X-C and some jumps. My friend owns this bike is this isn't too much of a difference from the Attack 1.0 but it is still a better price than the 3.0. great bike and nice comfortable ride.

Date Reviewed: May 25, 2003

Strengths:    Inexpensive, stiff frame, quality construction, easily upgradeable (is that a word? it should be.)

Weaknesses:    some of the OEM components are pretty crummy, but it brings the cost down considerably on an otherwise sweet rig

Bottom Line:
This bike may be a pretty basic beginner-type ride right out of the box, but it's easy to toss on newer and better (lighter) components as your skill grows. I've shaved enough weight off my Attack to make it a fairly competitive XC race rig. It'll cost you some... it's more expensive to put components on after-market for sure, but hey, if you do the work yourself, at least you can learn something at the same time.

Strengths:    Frame holds up perfect, Suspension absorbs everything so far.

Weaknesses:    I think i may have broken a crank, its clunks like mad. and my back brake fell apart, but i think that was due to vandalism.

Bottom Line:
Great bike for beginner freeriding but def. not for intermediate/advanced. too heavy for XC but im riding from jasper to banff on it this summer.

Strengths:    Good frame design, rear shock is OK once i got a heavier spring, front shock.

Weaknesses:    A little heave for XC riding.

Bottom Line:
I would recomend this bike for someone as their first FS bike. its a good solid all around bike but would not use it as a DH bike or for free riding.

Strengths:    The fram holds up well

Weaknesses:    The rear shock, the sram deraler

Bottom Line:
This is a nice bike for the price. The fram held up well in all the downhill courses. The thing is way to heavy for the XC part but is nice for an alround bike ...
