Strength:

bought 3 yrs. old and lasted another 4 with almost zero maintenance

Weakness:

suspension pivots always noisy

I admittedly never maintained or used this bike the way it was intended. It was purchased used and managed to live through almost daily abuse with little to no maintenance for almost 4 yrs. This was my first FS bike and I abused it thoroughly. Dropping from loading ramps and other similar activities were the norm with this bike. I once rode it through water past the handlebars and managed to somehow make it last through a one time only 10' drop. The Avid BB5s were awesome the whole time. The Manitou fork started to spray oil towards the end and the rear derailleur could no longer hold a gear over anything more than a small curb. For a first time FS bike it did well climbing and great decending up until the end when I finally bent the frame doing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. I would recommend any of the similar K2 full sussers still produced to somebody looking for a good all around bike that'll take a beating and allow them the time to figure out where they're headed with their next purchase.

Strength:

Tight frame, excellent components, tunable

Weakness:

small gage rear shock fr-mount but not like I should I break it.

This bike is a very good bike for the money. Other bikes for this price don't have this good of components. The Noleen shock could be better, but it's worth riding for awhile until I 'need' something better. The Black is fully tunable which I like. I've only hit the trail once, but I'm looking forward to much more. I don't know how many will read this review as this is last year's model, but if you find this on sale, buy it. Oh, the Avid breaks are awesome! I've heard some say the front mount of the rear shock has bent on them but that was due to huge drops. The bike has beefy tires and appears to be a freeride, but it really is only a moderate freeride. For all out XC riding with basic drops, this bike should do very well.

Strength:

Strong frame.

Weakness:

Stock Shimano crankset.

This bike Rocks. I would recommend ditching the stock crankset before any hard riding. The Truvativ Stylo Team has been a great replacement because it reduces the overall weight and adds much needed stiffness. The bike climbs like an XC, and bombs like a downhill. If you want a super all-around bike get this one. I give it 4 chilis in value because of the cheap crank, but 5 flamin' chilis overall.

Strength:

Beefy frame, Solid bike, Good Component Mix. Disc Brakes. Good performing front fork (Manitou Black Comp)

Weakness:

Heavy. Occasional Chainsuck. Mediocre Rear Shock. Squeaky Disc Brakes.

This is my first 'real' dual suspension bike. Is rather heavy in the uphills but rides like a 'Cadillac' on the Downhills. My Only complaint is the rear (more like mid) shock. I have bottomed it out a couple of times and is not as tunable as K2 claims. For the price I paid, this is great beginner dual suspension bike.

Strength:

Great Components for $$, Super brakes, beatiful welds, great frame

Weakness:

Rear shock.....not much travel, bad seat for long rides

Great bike for what its made for. Weak shock, but you can always upgrade that no problem. If your looking for a strong, inexpensive, great bike.....you've found it. Throw in a helix pro, or fox vannila rc, and you have got one sick bike.If your a downhill/xc rider, thats still thinking about what kind of riding to do, get THIS BIKE.

Strength:

Beefy frame, good component set for the price.

Weakness:

Noleen shock is hard to get springs for. A bit on the heavy side. forward shock mount looks a bit wimpy but we'll see how it hold up.

This is a good solid x-country or all 'rounder bike masquerading as a free-ride/downhill bike. Have to set the spring and damping pretty stiff to minimize bob. I'm a heavy guy (250 lbs) and many other x-country bikes like the Sugar and the Manomano were way too flexy. The extra weight on this one is a fair trade for the stiff frame. The clearance price was a big bonus too. Adjustable suspension seems a bit of a gimic considering the choices are between approx 3.25" and 4" on either end. Steering is light and quick for a bike with 2.4" tires. Speaking of tires, the WTB Nanoraptors are not too great on mud and considering I live in Seattle I think I will try a different tire when these are done. The LX derailers and avid mechanical brakes are nice for this price level. I already have a Float shock on order to replace the cheap Noleen shock. We'll see how the Black 80/100 fork hold up. This is a good all around or "all mountain" bike for clydesdales like me after the suspension is upgraded. Value has to be a 5 because of the clearance price, overall rating is a 4 because of a few things like the too-short seat post and weak suspension.

Strength:

disc brake ready frame, adjustable rear shock, tough frame

Weakness:

air shock (leaks every once in a while)

a good full suspension with a smooth ride. recomended for intermediate to expert riders. does not have the kind of suspension needed for big drops but great for a cross country full suspension.
