Strengths:Great bike its a little heavy for street but i find good for dirt, love the frame its tough and same with the tires and rims.
Weaknesses:the cranks suck so i put on some 3 piece cranks and it made a big difference in feel and the pedals i was not to happy with so i switched those out too.
Bottom Line:Great bike when making little adjustments.Good for all skills

Submitted by Dave Smith a Weekend Warrior from Nelson, BC
Date Reviewed: June 4, 2003
Favorite Trail:anywhere
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:Adventure shop, Bonners Ferry, Idaho
Strengths:The frame is built awesome. It has a nice gusset holding the down tube to the head tube; it's 4130 chromoly, kind of heavy but not too bad. It has super thick 14 mm hubs. The bars feel right and i love the seat too; it's cushy and wont rip apart too easily either. the rims and tires are good. sweet chrome coloured chain that's strong. pretty much everything is great
Weaknesses:the cranks worked their way loose on the 2nd day. they kind of rounded out a little bit and even when they are fully tightened they still have a bit of slack to them. the bottom bracket seems fine though. my right crank also twisted out a little bit cause i land so far out on the pedal, cauing it to twist. the grips are super comfy but after 2 weeks started to fall apart. also i got 2 flat tires within the first 2 weeks. i think that they might have been old tubes, cause they seemed kind of stiff
Similar Products Used:X games crappy old bmx, huffy MJ12, huffy vert bike of some kind (it was yellow)
Bike Setup:totally stock so far
Bottom Line:a great bike for the money. better than the single x, but dont go all out for the triple or supa. this one has everything that you need and you shouldnt break anything major. you might want to put on some new cranks though, and new grips after a while.

Date Reviewed: March 11, 2002
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $300.00
Strengths:The double X (2002) is a great bike all up. Most of the components are high quality and it is a strong bike with good features. You get monster forks which seem strong, the frame inst going anywhere, built very solid. The rims are strong, tires are high quality (Maxxis holy rolers), brakes work ok, fat oversized 14m hubs, gyro and a pair of pegs makes this a good buy for any skill level dirt/vert/street rider.
Weaknesses:The 1 peice cranks are generic redline cranks, nothing special so if your gona pull some crazy trick 10 ft in the air then dont put your weight on the cranks or they will snap, if you save up and get monster 3 pc or something that should make the bike perfect. The bike is also heavy
Bottom Line:A great bike for any BMX level, built tough and feels good to ride.
