Strengths:    good beginner bike

Weaknesses:    its way to heavy for tricks once you've become into freestyle

Bottom Line:
its a good bike to learn how to ride over jumps but if you actually want to catch air and speed i suggest a lighter bike such as Fit or Fly

Strengths:    It has a pretty tought frame and forks, not like those mongoose pieces of crap.

Weaknesses:    The bike is a bit too heavy and the brakes suck. I've also had some problems with the cranks and wheels. It's not too great for dirt jumping.

Bottom Line:
If you're a beginner this is an amazing bike, since you won't be getting much air anyway. When you get some more experience you could buy a more expensive and lighter bike.

Strengths:    it is heavy duty. is good at wheelies, rails, dirt trails, has excelent balance.

Weaknesses:    heavy, brake system fails constantly, rip it out when you get it and instal another one.

Bottom Line:
buy the bike if you want a easy rider, that packs a punch when you need it

Date Reviewed: May 3, 2007

Strengths:    The Bike is over all really strong. The Crank Has went through some crazy stuff and still work great. I have no problems with the headset. It is a pretty good bike for dirt and a little bit of vert.

Weaknesses:    The rims, and Hubs suck to a high degree. If you buy the bike I strongly suggest to buy some eastern hubs and rims from Dans Comp. The brakes suck really bad. I would also buy some We the People brakes from Dans Comp. It is quite heavy for the looks.

Bottom Line:
If I were you I would buy the bike but make sure you have some money to buy brakes, rims, and hubs if your hardware go wrong. Also I would make sure to look into Dans Comp.

Strengths:    The bike has good meaurements, strong parts and an OK price

Weaknesses:    This thing wieghs a TON. I want to say close to 45 lbs. A good street BMX is going be about 30-35 at most. Its ok for a nube who wants to be really strong when he/she gets a lighter more pricey bike or if you are goingto jump this think a lot.

Bottom Line:
Dont buy unless you are buying for a novice or to just pedal around on.

Strengths:    Easily manuverable, great for downhill because of its heaviness... holds up VERY well and a desent bike for flatland at your local park or something

Weaknesses:    Probably it's weight! Definatly not the bike for you if you're into racing or freestyle... You cant get a lot of air, but its still desent air... i've jumped staircases with it that have 9 steps...

Bottom Line:
If you looking for "big" air... then this is not the bike for you, but if your looking for an amazingly fun time at your local park or downhill (like me) than this is your DREAM BIKE!!! Trust me, i've looked for this kind of bike for years, i'll never pick any other kind of bike as long as i live!

Strengths:    strong, i threw it off the school and it still works like a charm, once you get goin you can glide for a while

Weaknesses:    to heavy to get lots of air with, bad brakeyou should replace those as soon as possible

Bottom Line:
it is a great bike i would recommend it to anyone that wants a bike that can take punishment. great for a beginner that wants to try it out or a pro that wants a good bike but doesn't have much money

Submitted by dm zigler a Weekend Warrior from baltimore

Date Reviewed: August 29, 2003

Strengths:    Looks Cool, Low maintanence

Weaknesses:    Heavy, General- department store quaity (low quality). The bike looks as if it could handle abuse thrown at it due to its weight and thick tube frame design. I have had to replace many parts on this baby because it just isnt Heavy duty enough for what the average bmxer has to throw at it. The crank/pedal snapped in two on one landing when i jumped down a flight of stairs.

Bottom Line:
This isnt really a good bike for anyone except if your on a budget. Its designed for freestyling, but its way to heavy, almsot like a jumping frame. As said elswhere, the brakes aren't powerful enough to stop quickly, I would advise upgrading them. A good bike for a beginner who has no money.

*Also, I felt Dicks had bad customer support. The general lack of knowledge on their product was a downer. The mechanics didn't even know how to tighten the seat.

TLD Moto and Azonic Venom Shorts Fit?

Anyone who runs either of these shorts, can you comment on how they fit size wise? Are they close to the advertised waist size? How much slack does the ratcheting waist take up on either? My actual waist measures 36 but all my shorts are 34 and are slightly loose fitting.Read More »

Sette Venom with a dual crown?

Hey all, So I have a Sette Venom (Pricepoint's catalog freeride frame) and now it has a 180mm Domain on it. I am thinking about putting a dual crown (older Boxxer Team or Race probably) on it to make it more slack and because I want to use the domain on another bike. I know the frame was built ... want info about Venom frame

I'm curious as to how well this frame would work with a 160mm fork and an AM oriented kit on it? How would this frame do for AM riding with some road riding to the trails? how does this bike climb? by the look of it, I'd have to say not too good. I'm looking for an inexpensive bike that would work f ... Read More »
