Strengths: Keep's you dry in soaking wet conditions and they breathe.Weaknesses: None so farBottom Line: For Mtb'ing it'øs much netter than shoe covers.
Get them, you won't be disappointed.

Strengths: Well made, no seam under foot, side seams appear smooth and water tight. Also help keep my feet warmWeaknesses: This is not a fault of the sock, because I am pressing the limits of socks. But I sometimes wade streams and want a water tight seal between the sock and my leg. I have tried wrapping a band around my leg but water still trickles in.
I have thought about using duct tape instead but am concerned if that would somehow compromise the Gortex. Does anyone have any other ideas?Bottom Line: Is a great sock to keep you warm & dry, but lacks a way of keeping water from tricking in from the top

Strengths: In the snow and slush of A New England winter I can count on having dry feet. I rode at Fort Rock for 2 1/2 hours in 25 degree weather and my feet remained warm and dry. Last week i went running through newly fallen slush and snow for 50 minutes. My sneakers were soaking wet, but my feet remained dry and warm.Weaknesses: expensiveBottom Line: Excellent product to wear over winter socks. Expensive but worth th cost,.... these will permit you to work out in the cold and stay comfortable.

Strengths: Keeps me tootsies warm!Weaknesses: Doesn't stretchBottom Line: I have used these for road riding and cross riding and so far they have been great. I wear a pair of DeFeet socks under these, and sometimes a thin wind cover over the shoes (regular summer riding shoes.)
The socks have keep my feet warm and dry - and just for that it's worth every penny of the $17 (a bargain really) I paid!
Only "weakness" (if it can be called that,) is that it doesn't stretch so putting it on / taking off can be a bit of a hassle. Also, because it doesn't stretch, you have to be sure of the size when ordering.

Strengths: Keep your feet warm and dryWeaknesses: Expensive, hard to get on foot.Bottom Line: I was waiting to review these till I really had a chance to test them in some wet conditions. I bought these cause I hate wet feet. My local trails have lots and lots of creeks to cross and ride through.
Well today I literally walked up a creek with my feet summerged in water for about 500 yards, and when I got out of it, my feet were totaly dry!!! I'm thinking about buying another set! These rock, and they work. No more wet feet for me, and seem to be windproof too (didn't care about the wind, the water was my concern).

Strengths: It's Gore-tex. It Breathes.
No bulk.Weaknesses: -This isn't the socks fault, but i've had no luck with the gore repair kit.
-pricy, but it is an investment not an expense.Bottom Line: Dishpan feet no more. I slip into my soggy cycling shoes while wearing these and i don't even notice the cold. They've been a most useful accessory while camping where i couldn't dry my shoes. They did get a snag in them while going through some scrub and the patch has since let me down. Even so my feet are a lot happier than with out them.
If i avoid complete submersion they still perform.

Bottom Line:
First, let's change weekend warrior to my-ass-is-always-on-my-bike. I like that much better. Racing is for racers. These socks are a blessing for a year round commuter who loves the one ride he has and does not want to spend five months slogging on an ill-fitting borrowed one. There are the neoprene overshoes and that sort of ilk, but I saw these at mountain equipment co-op and thought they were the answer to my prayers. Now I can wear my clip-in shoes, vented for the hot months as they are, and not freeze the shite out of my poor feet. They slide on over a pair of socks and are water and wind proof and breathable. They are also perfect for harsh condition outdoor activities of all sorts. They are a bit pricey ($50 Cdn.-that's about 5 bucks american-hyuk) but when the snow starts to fly I won't miss the cash one bit. 5 rim-burners!
