Strengths: Comforrrrrrrt. The gel takes a load off the saddle. Maybe I'm too lazy to stand up, but these are comfortable shorts and they have lassted for several years.
Weaknesses: Lycra wears out after a couple of years and many crashes.Bottom Line: These shorts are awesome, I wish more online shops were carrying them.

Strengths: Gel Is very thick and isolates road vibrations wellWeaknesses: Poor construction, odd/inconsistant sizing, durabilityBottom Line: I purcahased these while leading 25 day bike tours, I used these for 2 weeks, while spending 6-8 hours in the saddle. The gel was very thick and did a great job absorbing road vibrations.
I was dissapointed by the fit and ergonomics of the shorts. The big thick gel insert is tuff to get used to. The cut of the shorts was strange, as were sizes. Fitting complaints not very useful in a reveiw like this so I'll move on.
I was very dissapointed by the quality. The materials were sub par, the elastic gave out quickly and after a week on trail seams were starting to unravel. The fabric was thin and started to wear and after the second rinsing (by hand with just soap and water, air drying) the shorts started falling apart. I was very dissapointed and had to finish the last 2 weeks of that trip with my trusty C-dale hpx's...

Strengths: Comfortable and takes away road vibration.Bottom Line: Trico Sports is known as an innovator in designing high performance comfort bicycle saddles. I have used their Split-Rail saddle for several years for both road and off-road riding and find it to be a true "anatomical" saddle. There saddles feature such technologies are tunable width, Matriflex padding which is an industry first of combining gel with form in a matrix form, providing both comfort and support. While saddles are key to comfort on the bike, a good pair of cycling shorts are not just a matter of fashion, but also comfort and performance.
For many cyclists baggy style shorts are becoming more and more popular for their style, durability and cargo carrying capacity. Trico has recently entered the baggy cycling short market with an innovative design for a great liner and chamois that you appreciate as the ride gets longer and longer. The Trico Baggy Short is the first short where chamois is co-molded onto the ventilated gel piece creating a comfort zone. The breathable gel pad wicks moisture away from the skin and is anti-microbial. The outer shell is 100 percent nylon with two large side cargo and duel side seam pockets and an elastic waistband with a drawstring.
The Trico shorts are the best baggies I've ever tried. The liner is fabulous with its new-school gel vented chamois and plenty of pockets for carrying everything from your wallet to a sports bar on those longer rides.
