Strengths:    Fit, comfort, style, from a company with outstanding customer support.

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
The first pair I purchased was from the first production run of this model. The construction of the shorts was average at best, but the fit and comfort of these was so good I didn't care. Over seven months of use the stitching on the short and liner deteriorated and zippers broke. I contacted the USA distributor just to inquire on the quality. I got a quick reply confirming they had some QC issues with the initial batch. I was offered warranty replacement, sent the shorts back and received new ones in less than a week. Construction on the new ones are top notch!! I was so impressed I purchased a pair of the Royal Esquire shorts as well. Same great quality and fit as the Matrix, a little lighter feel with better airflow for the hot summer rides.

Anyone riding 2012 Royal Matrix shorts? How's the fit?

I'm looking for one more pair of shorts for the season, and like a lot of the Royal gear I have, but can't try anything on around here. The 2012 Matrix short is supposed to be 32-34 for medium or 34-36 for large. I'm a 34, and am constantly stuck between. Anyone have experience with these? Do they r ... Read More »

A vs. thread? Yes, sir! Tribute/Escape v Vibe/Matrix

I'm looking for a new vehicle to replace my old Subaru that leaks oil like an offshore BP rig and isn't worth fixing. I've been seriously considering the Mazda Tribute or a Pontiac Vibe (I like the styling of those more than their counterparts). I haven't test driven a Vibe yet so I'm not sure what ... Read More »
