Strengths:    cheap, lightweight, no pockets (this might be a con for some)

Weaknesses:    too short, loose chamois fit vs tight leg fit, harsh material, look dorky

Bottom Line:
There is enough padding to suffice, but it can squirm around on you. They ride up your thigh pretty far, too. These are my backup shorts: the seems have held up better than my old Hoss shorts, but I wait until my Specialized are too dirty to use again and then decide between these and my lycra depending on who I'm riding with (alone = lycra for comfort). But they are only slightly more modest than lycra given their tendency to creep up you thighs. Going on a multiday bike trip and can't spring for another a pair of "good" shorts? Here's your backup.

Strengths:    Cheap, for 20 bucks they beat gym shorts w/ boxers hands down. Inner short seems to be alright, decent lycra, leg grippers work well enough.

Weaknesses:    Cheap, you get what you pay for. Not great material quality, construction seems ok, but Ive only ridden in them twice so nothing really worth mentioning yet as far as wear. Chamois is by no means great, but it does the job. No zippered pockets.

Bottom Line:
Depending on how much you ride and how much you are looking to spend these shorts are not bad.

If you are accustomed to Pearls, and Sugois, you probably wont be too satisfied with this short. The "chamois"(brushed polyester with some foam on the back side) just doesn't match up to actual chamois or gel.

If however you are like I was and are motoring around in gym shorts with a sore undercarriage and considering something more cycling oriented, by all means consider these. However, they don't eliminate soreness, just reduce it considerably.

Bottom Bottom Line: Satisfied with purchase, but will definitely upgrade to something a little better next time.
