Strengths: light weight, nicely ventilated (hence their name) and a *very* comfy chammy in the liner. for me it's ridiculously comfortable compared to what i've gotten used to. i feel like i can stay in the saddle much longer before i notice any discomfort and i was using a top-shelf pair of pearl izumis previously.
note to xc dudes: these also have a nice snug fit without bunching during long periods in the saddle.
Weaknesses: other than their $120 retail price-tag (is it just me or does it seem like a dozen benjamins is a lot to pay for a pair of fox mtb shorts?) they also have these janky rubber & velcro closure tabs on both hips for cinching up the waist. the rubber curled up after one wash and now they stick out during rides. no big, but it is a buzzkill for such pricey shorts.
Bottom Line:
if you can score these on the bay for sixty bucks like i did, you'll be stoked, especially if you spend a lot of time in the saddle on your xc rides.
