Strengths: stiff, rachet system for fine adjusments, agressive soles.Weaknesses: rachet system is abit weak. stitching does not seem to be of high qualityBottom Line: My original Times that were purchased over a decade ago where made in France and are still holding up despite the dated colors (neon Yellow/red). The soles aren't carbon, but overall construction seems much better than these. These MXS were made in China They retail over $300 which is very steep considering quality, even if they say TIME. The fit is similar to my old TIME shoes with the exception that they are stiffer because of the carbon soles. The beefy soles will come in handy during those difficult sections on the trail where you need to dismount and walk/run around obstacles. Lots of ventilation, 2 extra velcro straps for a secure fit with a micro adjustment buckle
