The Teva Pivot is a skate inspired shoe with a last that was designed for cycling. The reality is that most of us don’t live close to chair lifts and we are hiking our bikes up steep mountain faces. Teva recognized that, therefore, one of the most notable differences between the Teva Pivot and other cycling shoes is that the shank size is smaller. The shank stops before the toes and heel so it’s still very comfortable to walk in.
Strengths: Great hold. Fairly easy to get in and out of. Looks like normal shoes on or off a bike.
Weaknesses: Feels half size too big... Recomend you try them on first.
I've had these shoes for about 3 weeks with about 10 rides ranging from 30min to 3 hours all on singletraks... So far they are working out great. First off... on or off the bike they look like normal shoes. You can take them anywhere without doing the "cleat walk" so its easy to go grab a bite or a hit a shop after a hard ride. The hold is great while pedaling hard in rough terrain and are even comfortable enough for a ride around the neighborhood with the wife. Installing the crankbrothers clips wasn't too hard. Once clip placement was adjusted to my liking it's very easy to get in and out of my Mallet 3's. They are also very easy to clean even with mud (a big concern before ordering the shoes). Dust and sand is a wipe away from back to new... In mud just hose them off and hit them with quick brush, then good to go...
Overall, Grat shoes! Would recoment them for all types of riders.
