Date Reviewed: March 12, 2001
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $80.00
Purchased At:the shop
Strengths:great fit,light weight, and stiffness
Weaknesses:toe spikes break
Similar Products Used:97' specialized team shoe
Bike Setup:99' specialized rockhopper,mars c,lx/xt,ritchey,thomson,and avid
Bottom Line:this is a great shoe.although you'll probly have trouble finding them because they are a 98 model.they offer a great fit and reasonable light weight.in the summer they keep your feet cool but it backfires doing winter riding.the shoe is very stiff and i've raced and rode them for a year.if you can find them buy em' because they are a great product.i'll give them 3 on the value because even though they kick ass and were the choice of shoe for specialized team riders they shouldn't cost $180.but on overall i'll give them 5 because of how great they are.

Submitted by Steve a Racer from NJ
Date Reviewed: November 15, 1999
Duration Product Used:
1 Year
Strengths:
comfort
durability
laces plus velcro work well
toe box is a bit wider than other shoes
Weaknesses:
lugs on sole clog with debris
a bit tricky to clip in because of small cleat pocket
toe spikes wear quickly
Similar Products Used:
Performance, Nike
Bike Setup:
size 10, American ;-)
Bottom Line:A good shoe. I can snug them down pretty tight without discomfort. I've used them for racing all this season, and they've held up well.
I got a discounted price on them from Supergo, so they've been a very good value for me.

Submitted by Dino a Weekend Warrior from NJ
Date Reviewed: October 31, 1999
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
Stiff sole
Wekk made
Light
Ventelated
Weaknesses:
Little grip on tread
Velcro staps too long
Bottom Line:These shoes need more rubber on the sole. If you are not clipped in they don't hold the SPD pedal real well. I stripped out a screw tightening the plate to the sole, and feel the metal threads are weak. I would not recommend them.
