Nice shoes. I have narrow feet and they seem to fit perfectly. Very comfy too, and they are damn esy to take on and off.

Ive had these shoes for over five years now, and they don't look like they are going to give up for a while yet. I bought them with some shimano 515 pedals (complete and utter rubbish- see what people have to say about these)but have some crank bros candys on the way. I hope the cleats work, because the tread sticks out a lot. I was thinking about upgrading the shoes too but I don't think there is any point, because these shoes rock.

Strengths:
Cheap and comfortable with a sturdy sole.
Weaknesses:
Fasteners are insufficient. Need another strap across the top of the foot. My heel lifts even if the two lower straps are super-tight.

Awsome, and the had them in my size, 48, I tried to buy them from specialized but i just moved and the adress on the card was different then the mailing adress, so they wouldnt put my order tyhrough. So for 5 bucks more i got to get the same shoes, in the blue and gray, and was able tp use them that day, LOVE UM!!!!

Bottom Line:
Great shoes, they come with velcro and laces, laces are not needed. Super easy to put on and take off, they are warm if its cold out, they dry fast and most important they are comfortable.

This is my first pair of clipless, but I can't imagine a better shoe. I ride to work everyday using these (10 miles/day) and they are always comfortable. I also ride a fair bit of single track, and these shoes have never let me down. The treads are especially great in the mud (which we have a lot of up here in Seattle). Can't beat the price either. I'd give 'em six flaming poo's if the scale went that high...

Very comfortable and priced right. These are my first pair of clipless, but I can't image a better shoe (at least in this price range). After an 80 mile (street) ride, my feet felt great (unlike my butt). I just wish they'd put a little pull loop on the back to make them easier to put on. If you can find last year's model in the right size for cheap, buy them.

Please note: review refers to year 2000 model. Highly recommend this shoe as it can be obtained for like $35 on the specialized web site (www.specializedstore.com). As you can see from all the other reviews, this shoe is wonderful. I had a pair of shimano bike shoes (low end) that I paid over twice as much for that didn't really give me the kind of power transfer that these shoes do. They aren't great for walking in, but as i have learned, that's not the purpose of biking shoes. These shoes are wonderful

I was suprised at the comfort since it is such a stiff riding shoe. Not much to compare it too but I have a lot of nerve damage in my left leg and no numbness which is great. It really looks great also. The price was great as I bought it at a 10% over cost sale.

Great entry level shoe for the money. The tread is good for walking your bike up steep slopes (which I seem to be doing way too much of). My feet are really narrow, so the straps are too long and scrape , but most people won't have a problem. They fit great and don't blister your foot. My first pair of cleats, and they work great. I'd recommend them to others. 4 chilis for value, because is there a such thing in this money sucking sport?

Brand spankin' new 2001 Specialized Rockhopper FSR. I upgraded to clipless pedals, hence this shoe review.
Bottom Line:
I've only had these shoes for about 1 month, but so far they've been better than I expected them to be. I use Specialized road comp shoes for my road bike, and they hurt my feet after about 25 miles. I did a 30+ miler on my mountain bike with my new shoes and they were fine the entire ride. I did have a slight tingling half way into the ride, but after I stopped and repositioned my cleats, the tingling vanished. I give these shoes five flamin' horses!
