Strengths:    boa system, breathable and supportive uppers, stiff sole for pedaling efficiency

Weaknesses:    boa system, outsole slippery on rocks

Bottom Line:
I have used these shoes for six months through the heat of summer and now the cold of winter and they work well. $370.00 is a hell of a price to pay for shoes but when they are an integral part of the cycling experience, it is a good investment. I originally purchased these shoes specifically for the BOA lace system. The boa makes fine tuning of fit and tension easy to do while riding and the detents for adjustment are finer than say a ratchet and buckle type system. The uppers have held up well to normal scuff from trail riding and the outsole wears well. Walking on rocks can be a bit scary with these shoes as the outsole does not play well with solid surfaces. The only gripe I have with these shoes is that I will have to replace one of the boas because the protective coating on the cable has worn off and is inhibiting proper action of the boa, but it is a simple cartridge replacement and no worse than a buckle replacement. All in all these are great shoes which fit great and work. If you are looking for a lightweight yet burly shoe with great fit ability to customize with BG footbeds, and a unique enclosure system, then you should buy this shoe.
