Strengths: GREAT PRICE!! Very comfortable, even with a wide foot! Stiff enough for riding, not to stiff for walking. Optional laces.Weaknesses: 3 straps would be niceBottom Line: You really can't beat these shoes for the price. I tried these, Diadora's, and Sidi's. I like the fit of the Specialized better. I'll post another review after some use and abuse.

Strengths: Comfortable, good ventilationWeaknesses: The rings used to adjust the straps.Bottom Line: The bottom line is that after 3-4 months use, the top strap ring pulled from one shoe. When returned under warranty (to Avanti) I was told that it was wear and tear due to pulling the strap too tight. Now, in my opinion, the strap needs to be snug to limit foot movement. The level of "too tight" required to pull the loop out would be uncomfortable.
Apart from it's poor construction, it's a very good shoe.
By the way, in my second dealing with Avanti "customer service" (yeah right!) I rate them 0 chilli.

Strengths: Comfortable. Cheap. Look cool. Feel cool (temp)Weaknesses: none, dammitBottom Line: Unreal shoes for the price. Great fit and comfort. Great ventilation. I have no idea how shoes costing more could fit/work better. If you want SPD shoes and don't want to spend a ton of $$$, BUY THESE!!!

Strengths: A Completly unbeliveable shoe!! The Body Geometry shoe technolgy rules no foot pain after long rides. Constuction is rock solid. Air flow IS great. Price is a must have buy em direct from Specialized Direct save a bundle!Weaknesses: None That I've found at all (Keep you posted)Bottom Line: These shoes are amazing, The saying, You get what you pay for has been shattered by Specialized! For the price I just hoped I would get a good shoe I blown Away by the performace when It's time to replace the these I'm Getting the Comp MTB or the Pro MTB, love the body geometry technolgy. The construction blows away my AXO's I've hit some logs and branches directly in the toe and It use to hurt like hell Now I don't even feel it AT ALL! Life is good, and there is no damage on the shoe at all. The tread design is great climbs well whe you have to hike a bike. the price is outstanding for the price you would expect only an entry level shoe from any one else, I f this is entry level I'd love to see top of the line! This is the perfect shoe for all you Riders on a budget!

Strengths: Great fit, comfortable, dries very fast. Easy to clean and maintain. Love the laces and velcro. The mesh keeps the feet cool and sheds water, but on the other hand it does let water in rather quickly. Nice stiff sole. The Pro Moutain was my first choice, but at 280.00 plus 18% sales tax I went for the sport mountain.Weaknesses: Only that the colour fades to a dull red after a few rides.Bottom Line: A nice solid shoe for the first time buyer. Didn't want to spend over 200.00 on my first shoe, but needed something that could stand up to the mud and water on most of the local trials. They dry overnight, nothing worse than slipping into wet shoes at 5 am. When I get more hardcore I am sure I will own more than one pair. I will write another review at the end of the season, but I doubt my opinon will have changed much.
