Strengths: I bought the 2004 version of these shoes in 2006 as a closeout which made them very affordable. I found out quickly they were also very comfortable and had a super stiff sole. They dry out very quickly and have held up on the outside after 2 years of year round abuse.Weaknesses: I accidentally tore the flap directly below the velcro straps the day I purchased. I put duct tape on them and they have held together like a dream. Since I ride year round, I found these shoes impossible to ride in inclement weather. The cold air shoots right thru the vents above the toe. The cleat plate on left sole recently moved/adjusted and has made them uncomfortable for walking.Bottom Line: I recently purchased the 2008 version of 661 attacks and want people to know that these shoes are worth every penny!

Strengths: Great shoe, breathes and lasts a long time
does tear easilyWeaknesses: colors and design are weak.
staps are way too long
flexesBottom Line: good for the value, lasts a long time, great shoe for intermediate racer that doesn't walk much, bad design, but sole held up, and the tread is still pretty good, I wouldn't want to use them on Everyday long rides, but easy to clip in

Strengths: - breaths very well
- snug fit
- cheapWeaknesses: laces (remove them and just use the velcro straps)Bottom Line: Laces were a huge pain until I removed them halfway thru a ride. Just using the velcro straps worked well. I'm now only using the velcro and keeping the laces in my camelbak in case I need a tourniquet.
My regular ride has two water crossings, and they dried really well. We'll see how they breath when the Texas summers hit.

Strengths: Great fit, very cool - lots of mesh, stiff enough - yet ok to walk/hike in. Did not stretch at all.Weaknesses: velco straps are too long. spd cleat drags on floor when walking.Bottom Line: These are great, particularly for price. They are comfy, cool and have great power transfer. FOr the price they are unbeatable. They also still look new after nearly 400 miles of use (So CAL)

Strengths: Stiff and have great fit. Great airflow. Used for 300 miles and think they are great.Weaknesses: Not the best to walk/carry bike in, spd cleat scapes the floor. Laces get in the way of the velcro straps. Also the straps are too long.
On long climbs my feet can go to sleep a little. I am not sure if this would happen in any shoe.Bottom Line: Great value and great performance. Just could do with a few minor changes.

Strengths: This puppy is a good fit and that is about it. Lace ups help rap the foot.Weaknesses: They fell a part fast. The straps broke in lest than 4 rides. I guess you get what you pay for.
Bottom Line: An ok shoe if you are not real agressive. More for the weekend warrior.

Strengths: Inexpensive, quick break in period. Good airflow. Stiff as hell.Weaknesses: Application and removal.Bottom Line: Great shoe, very stiff and great airflow. Don't buy these if you take your shoes off alot. It takes forever to get puppies on or off. Once there on they are like nice and comfy. You can crank on these and they won't move.

Strengths: well made, three straps, laces, tongue under and over laces, well-formed heel cup, rugged outsoleWeaknesses: runs kinda small, toe box is really tight and cut to a severe point, colors kinda ambiguousBottom Line: solid shoe at a very good price. measured in metrics so the conversion is a bit tricky as they seem to run small. three straps are essential and the fact that these have laces as well as straps make for a nice tight fit. haven't had these long enough to give a durability review.
