Submitted by Kwa Lam a Weekend Warrior from Coquitlam
Date Reviewed: October 4, 2006
Favorite Trail:Nicole
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $200.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Inovative design, material use, features.
Weaknesses:tecno buckles
Similar Products Used:Time, Shimano
Bike Setup:2005 Giant NRS, XTR, Reba Fork, Mavic X717 rims
Bottom Line:A great shoe, a great fit, but finally, the tecno micro adjuster cable came apart. Took me a few hrs to figure out how to dismantle the buckle system and re-attached the cable. In the end, it was a successfull repair. Manage to break one of the clips that fastens the buckles to the shoe. Turns out the 2 other clips are holding it together fine. Over all it is a great shoe, with the options of replacemnets parts on the shoe to last you a lifetime.

Date Reviewed: August 1, 2002
Favorite Trail:Any thing I get wheels on
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $120.00
Purchased At:Defunct Bike Stop
Strengths:Fits like a glove, the finish is outstanding, and these shoes are going to last foreever. I have had these puppies for over 5 years. They have been used for commuting, road riding (300 mile weekends), off-roading, riding neighborhood on recumbent. I have had these on all day long at work when I needed to with no problems.
Weaknesses:lately one of the release tabs is sticking, a little bike chain wax fixes it.
Similar Products Used:Original Shimano M100
Bike Setup:All types.
Bottom Line:Best shoe on market bar none, great adjustability. Anyone who wants a great SPD ready/compatible comfortable shoe, that will last forever and feel great all the while would want these shoes.

Date Reviewed: June 11, 2001
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:Comfort, durabilty, Customer service
Weaknesses:Still looking
Similar Products Used:Nike Poobas
Bike Setup:22lb AMP B5 w/ everything
Bottom Line:My first review of these shoes was 2 years ago(look down the list). In the past 2 years I have beaten the piss out of them and they have only laughed at me. The only problem I ever was my own stupidity when I crossthreaded the cleat bracket. I called Sidi and they not only sent me two new brackets but also the updated ratchet and strap system. All for free. Talk about a company guaranteed to get my business forever. That is, if these ever wear out.
Are Sidis expensive? Yea, so are Farraris, Porches, and Lamborgines. Are they worth it? Drive one and you tell me.

Submitted by D Webber a Cross Country Rider from Wiltshire,UK
Date Reviewed: January 14, 2001
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:Light, cool, ratchets tight to foot. Ratchet and nylon lok has broken twice but have always easily replaced.
Weaknesses:Back of heel came away from soles but just glued it back down. Can be a little too lightweight (when rocks flick against foot). Insole just bare card which can be slightly unforgiving at times
Similar Products Used:Various shimano spd shoes
Bike Setup:Pace
Bottom Line:Good for racers, but as for all shoes, try for fit first

Submitted by Phil a Cross Country Rider from Blainville, Qc, Canada
Date Reviewed: July 9, 2000
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:Very nice ratchet system. Allows for subtle adjustments.
Weaknesses:Sole starts to separate in two parts after 3 years.
Bike Setup:Gary Fisher Sugar 1, XT drivetrain and HollowTech cranks, SID shox and SID sl fork
Bottom Line:Almost perfect. Mine have lasted for more than 3 years of extensive abuse. The upper Lorica leather is still in great condition and required a minimum of maintenance (hose wash!). Only two adjustment ratchets.

Date Reviewed: September 15, 1999
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
Ratchet adjustment is very easy and positive and is unaffected by damp and muck, easy to get comfortable. Reasonably water-resistant. Cool looks. Easy to set up, just screw your cleats in from the sole side, accepts several types.
Weaknesses:
Ratchets can fall apart (metal rod just pops out), open holes in sole dpending on cleat used, soles slip on hard dry surfaces (like roads!!). No insoles - hard cardboard so you need some insoles for comfort.

None
Bike Setup:
Wellgo WPD800 pedals on my Raleigh RSP 250 bike.
Bottom Line:Smart looking and very comfortable. I thought they were expensive at £89, but having looked at other top brands they are comparatively good value. After putting insoles in, I've had no trouble at all except part of the ratchets can work loose and just needs to be pushed back. Check the mechanisms each time, I had a screw work loose too. The soles which are fine on rough and wet stuff cannot grip on roads or paths a bummer when you have to get off and push! Nearly a Five, but I'd want insoles and no loose parts!!

Date Reviewed: July 13, 1999
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
Very stiff, excellent ratchet tightening system, uppers very rugged.
Weaknesses:
Red outer sole fell off my first pair, not very good for such an expensive (in the UK) shoe.
Similar Products Used:
Shimano M055
Bike Setup:
Marin Mt Vision
Bottom Line:Good shoe, spoiled by problems with sole.

got mine for $ 120 in germany which makes these shoes a bargain.
they tend to be 1 to 1.5 sizes small - mailordering is a bit of a gamble.

Favorite Trail:
frederick watershed
Duration Product Used:
2 Years
Strengths:
My third pair of Sidis in 6 years. The leather upper is soft and strong and damn near invincible! I keep wearing the tread off the bottom from constant use.
Weaknesses:
None. They seem to have fixed the problem that the old Dominators had with the upper peeling away from the heel area of the base.
Similar Products Used:
Specialized and Shimano
Bike Setup:
1995 Sidi Techno Fire low top (black upper with red soles)
Bottom Line:Sidis are a bit pricey, but are well worth it. My advice is to try to find a pair of last year's model on sale on the internet or at a big chain store like Performance or Bikes USA. These shoes change little from year to year (except for the colors) and there are some great bargains out there!

Duration Product Used:

Strengths:
comfort
Weaknesses:
price
Similar Products Used:
Nike Poobas
Bottom Line:Fantastic. If Faragamo made spud compatable loafers they wouldn't be this comfortable. My feet are wide and I always had trouble with numb toes on long rides. These shoes are not only the most comfortable cycling shoes I've tried but they might be the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, period.
