Strengths:    Quality of construction, fit, price, durability, stiffness, ventilation, no smell

Weaknesses:    Looks (subjective, I know), not enough traction on slippery surfaces, not meant to walk distances. Too breezy for proper cold conditions

Bottom Line:
Own this pair for 7 years, riding everything from fireroads to rugged, rocky trails.

The fit is great, very secure, easy to adjust and the sole's stiffness really helps with pedalling.

The uppers show little wear for what they've been through, the soles are naturally well worn but still strong. No delaminations or any other serious damage.

The lug material is hard and coupled with the lack of give throughout the sole it means that traction on hard and slippery surfeces is less than ideal. On soft ground the lugs provide enough bite to climb what you can't pedal up.

Another plus is the complete lack of smell. I guess this is due to good materials and ventilation.

Strengths:    Last forever
Just like Dominator but without finicky ratchet
Look like quality

Weaknesses:    Sole is slick on rocks and roots
No toe bumper-protection

Bottom Line:
I had a pair of Dominators that were getting old and the ratchet buckle kept breaking ($25 each!!!). I wear a size 13/14 shoe and it can be hard to find shoes in a 48 that actually fit (narrow foot). The Giau fit perfectly out of the box, I've had them for 3 years with no issues.

I found that my feet hurt less and it's because I don't have the ratchet strap tightening my foot too much.

If you'r considering the dominators, but are unsure then get these. If you need a shoe that performs well in slick environments look elsewhere.

Strengths:    Perfect form around the feet, good ventilation.

Weaknesses:    Maybe the heel is a little low, but this is only a problem when you walk with this shoe

Bottom Line:
just like all Italian products the looks are fantastic!
