Strengths:    Durable, Unsurpassed Fit, Good breath-ability, Stiff carbon sole, Looks great.

Weaknesses:    Price: way to expensive if you pay full price. The tongue on my newer pairs left foot seems to always shift to an obnoxious position, which required fixing.

Bottom Line:
I have owned two pair of these (I think, the first pair might have been a different model since it was almost a decade ago). The first pair I used so much I wore a hole through the side wall on the outside of my feet from rubbing on rocks, broke off a toe cleat, and melted part of the rubber (while trying to dry them at a camp fire). 7 years of hard use, as my only pair of mountain shoes, ridden multiple times a week and no complaints. When this pair wore out it was a no-brainer to get another pair. The heat forming was great, as it got rid of the annoying break in period, and the shoes fit to my feet perfectly from day one. Though they were brand new, the fit like my 7 year old pair, which was awesome!

These shoes are stiff, relatively light, and most importantly made to last. The all-to-commonly broken buckle has never let me down after hundreds of rock scrapes, and the material is thick and durable. The tread on the bottom of the shoe is made of a very hard plastic that has withstood plenty of hike-a-bike sections. That being said the toe cleats, carbon sole, and ultra hard plastic/rubber tread, while great for performance, weight, and durability, are not good for long hikes (duh) so make sure you can stay on your bike for most of the trail :). Additionally I have almost eaten linoleum several times while clickity clacking around fast food / beer establishments; these shoes are like ice skates on smooth surfaces.

MI don't think anyone could justify the retail price tag, but for a sale price of under $250 I would recommend and will continue to buy these shoes sole-ly (pun intended) for the rest of my biking days.
