Strengths:    Grippy, comfy, sturdy, ankle protection.

Weaknesses:    Non removable inner sole, non adjustable inner sole as with the AM40 and MP90.
Perforated outer sole let water in.
Not stiff enough.

Bottom Line:
Same grippy sole as the AM40 (the best of the bunch) and MP90 models, unfortunately they lack removable inner sole, also adjustable in stiffness, which was a great feature.

In this configuration they are not as versatile and not stiff enough for long rides with lots of uphill pedaling.

Also the perforated uppers do no add much IMO, while they let water in in wet weather (ALWAYS wet where I ride).

I hope Shimano goes back to the AM40.

Strengths:    Stiff, narrow profile, lightweight, tough sole, laces cover

Weaknesses:    Fugly! $$$$$

Bottom Line:
If you find the Five Tens sloppy and soft, this is the show for you! I posted a long review in the forum, suffice to say that this shoe is everything a platform shoe shoudl be without running clipless. It has a flat sole for consistent pedal contact, rubber is sticky without being too soft, narrow profile provides lots of lateral movement to get in close to the cranks. If you fit this shoe and are more into trail riding and DH, then give away those Five Tens and grab some of these shoes!
