from Perth, Western Australia Date Reviewed: August 16, 2001 | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Purchased At: | Bicycle Entrepreneur | | Bottom Line: | These shoes are very comfortable now that I've subtituted Shimano's thin insole with a meatier one out of an old pair of Brooks running shoes. The soles and stitching have stood up well to over 2 years of the hard-baked Aussie red earth! Don't be put off by the whinging about wet weather suitabiliy; mine got soaked and caked with mud last weekend which didn't affect performance one bit.I hosed them down afterwards and they dried as quick as any other wet shoe. Give the suade part a spray with a suitable leather protector and you're laughing. In conjunction with my 747's they are excellent and they don't look like a bunch of posey, flash, racer-boy arse either! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Sport | | Bottom Line: | I really really liked these shoes but the soles just didn't hold up. The SPD jaws shredded the soles til the stiffening material showed almost all the way to the heel of the right shoe. I bought them last April and reviewed them too in the other Megagam section. Sorry Shimano, I liked it but the durability is not there. Change the sole material and I will buy again. | Overall Rating: |

The sole could stand to be stiffer, but otherwise they are great shoes for a beginner or someone without large amounts of $$$$ | Overall Rating: |

Don't get me wrong, these are great shoes, but it always seems like at all the LBS's around, you can get something much better for only a little more money. In my case, I was hooked up so well, but if this isn't your case, get those crazy Shimano blue shoes. They are pimp. | Overall Rating: |

I've been using the MO 35 for about a year now and I'm almost fully satisfied. It's comfortable, has a good sole, and a more laid-back brown color, as opposed to bright red or whatever. My only complaint is that, even out of the box, my cleats were tapping on the ground. Makes me wanna get up and do a tap dance for Satan. Using this shoe with the '99 M535 pedals is an awesome combination -- I have yet to stash because I couldn't get my shoe out of the pedal, and yet at the same time I've also never had a shoe come out of the pedal accidentally, either. This is a perfect shoe/pedal combination. Five stinky hemorrhoids from me. Do it for Satan, baby! | Overall Rating: |

I bought a pair back in July, and I've used for biking as well as hiking. They've stood the test. They're so comfortable to walk in. And sometimes when I just want to toodle around on my bike wearing short and denim shirt, they match perfectly. Now if only they had other colors, like black or red... | Overall Rating: |

This is my first pair of bike shoes and I must say that I am VERY pleased with them. I wanted something which I could put on at home, stop at a store and walk in and not get a bunch of strange looks. These are perfect!! They hold to my feet excellent, no hot spots or slippage. They grip well when I get dumped and must walk and seem to hold up well as I have tried to abuse them by walking, running, and falling quite often. Overall excellent value for the money and they look the most normal of all bike shoes I tried!!! | Overall Rating: |

Great shoes! Bike 3 times per week and weekends, hate the way most bike shoes look. Tried Specialized shoes at my local shop, but they're an awful fit! The shoes are easy on and off and are ok for the trip to the store as well. I give them four chilis! | Overall Rating: |

These shoes are cool! They are a welcome change to those 'bowling shoes' Shimano made with all the 'eye-shattering' pink and green colours and crappy colouring scheme on the laces. The shoes are stiff enough for a speedy ride, yet comfortable enough to walk around the city in. Good purchase for the novices starting out on SPDs. | Overall Rating: |

Like the other reviews below this, I bought these shoes because of their looks. Personaly, I find them very elegant and discret, and above all, very confortable. The semi-rigid sole could be a litle more rigid, but that again, they wouldn´t be so confortable would they? :) Overall opinion: Excelent value for money!

These shoes are great! Nice colours, comfortable, and great with the bike. The soles are stiff enough, but the laces could be a bit better. The laces keep coming undone and I had to tie a double knot to secure it. Other than that, these shoes are great shoes for first-timers. | Overall Rating: |

If you want to know what I think, read Michael's review. These are my first pair of SPD shoes, and I've been very happy with them. Actually, before I installed the cleats, I played a game of softball in them. They gave me better traction going around the bases than my regular shoes! Love that tread pattern. I highly recommend them to any beginning SPuD head! | Overall Rating: |

This is my first clipless shoe and I bought because the colors were the only acceptable ones out there. Why do biking shoe have to look so wacky? So far they have performed well, could be a little stiffer. The fit is very good no hot spots yet. These are great to walk in too. | Overall Rating: |
