Strengths:    The shoe is comfortable

Weaknesses:    Buckle is made of cheap plastic and doesn't hold up for the needs of mountain biking.

Bottom Line:
This was my first clip shoe so didn't know really know what to look for when I first purchased. I liked the idea of the buckle to tighten the shoe. Within the first couple of rides the buckle broke off the shoe. This was replaced under warranty which I was happy with and thought I had a bad shoe. But after the replacement, the buckle broke off two more times. Finally the shoe was replaced under warranty for newer model with a slightly different buckle design. This fixed the break-off issue but the buckle release is made with cheap plastic and that broke off. Currently, I am just using the shoe with a broken buckle release. Now that I have had it a year I am planning to replace it with a Shimano shoe. One positive is the company honored the warranty.

Strengths:    Price

Weaknesses:    Durability

Bottom Line:
These are comfortable shoes at a great price compared to many of the other name brand shoes I tried on. However, after only three months of weekend use (maybe 10 rides), the ratchet adjustment clip broke off of both shoes. I I don't think I over-tightened them, as I would have thought foot discomfort would come before the failure of the adjustment clip. I'm really disappointed because the shoe performed well, and, like I said, it was a comfortable shoe at a good price.

If I just got a defective pair, they will be a great value for you. If my experience is any indication, though, there is not much value in having to buy new shoes every 10 rides.

Sette Vexx, Fezzari Widows Peak, or Astro ASDHK frame question.

I am thinking of getting a Sette Vexx frame which is similar to the Fezzari Widows Peak, or Astro ASDHK. I'm 6 ft and 160 lbs, and am wondering if anyone with a similar frame is running a small instead of a medium? What frame size would you recommend? Also, is anyone running a Maxxis 2.7 tire? ... So I'm sure a lot of you have seen the new KHS prototype downhill bike. I've even heard some good propoganda reviews of the bike. But, it's apparently the same thing as the Astro AFDHA. Anyone know how these bikes ride? How would they be different from a DW Link-type bike (besides the final pric ... Read More »
