Strengths:    Excellent grip on pedals when new. Nice and snug fitting. Shoe it's self holds up to lots of abuse

Weaknesses:    After only 3 years, the tread on the sole is pretty much shredded so I no longer have very good grip on my pedals

Bottom Line:
I bought these to use for downhill 3 years ago with a set of nukeproof electron pedals. I am a downhill rookie and also a flat pedal rookie... at least I was. I loved how much more connected my feet were when I went from clipless pedals to flats that I converted to only riding my flats. The shoes have held up remarkably well minus the sole. all of the triangular shaped treads have broken off on the wide section of the sole, which is most likely from a repeated twisting or yanking motion with my shoe connected to the pedal. Without the sole gripping your pedals, what good are they? That's why I only give it 3/5 overall rating. I wonder if the FiveTen FreeRiders with the stealth rubber soul would hold up better. Also, if my pedals had shorter spikes, maybe that would have save the soul as well.
