The Giro Gauge HV (Wide) MTB Shoe. For riders with EE (even slightly wider) sized feet. Combining an Easton? EC70 carbon composite sole that delivers optimal power to the pedals, with a reinforced microfiber upper that is supple, yet durable enough to be
Strengths: Carbon sole provides excellent strength and power to the pedals
Customizable footbed with arch supports provided
Weaknesses: Perhaps the price - only reason I didn't give them 5 chilis!
Have about 7 rides and 90km's on these shoes. They are paired up with Time xc carbon 8 pedals.
Power transfer from the shoe/pedals and cranks are very good. The shoes is fairly light and has good adjustability with the straps etc.
I especially like the sole/footbed adjustability. Giro gives you a couple of different shoe supports. I have higher arches so their arch support footbed is a delight for longer ride comfort.
They are used for xc/technical xc /all mountain riding.
