Strengths: Good looking casual skate style shoe with a sticky sole - better made than Vans equivalent. I purchased the buckskin lace version for use as a casual shoe. 4 chilis as a skate shoe
As mtn bike shoe (which they are not designed for ).... 1 chili due to the thin sole and lack of upper reinforcement.
I'm not sure who decided to call this a mountain bike shoe but it was not Five Ten. This what Five Tens own catalog says:
"Caution: You'll never want to take these shoes off. Our tribute to the eponymous lifestyle, this shoe is designed for skateboarders, BMX riders and anyone who lives to ride."
Five Tens real mtn bike shoes are the best made, so if you ride platform pedals do yourself and spend the money for the real deal you will not be disappointed.
I've owned many pairs Five Ten climbing, approach, and skate shoes and have had no problems with their products.
Does anyone have experience with either of these shoes, better yet both? I normally ride clipless but I've been thinking of giving flats a try just as an alternative for honing different skills.
