Five Ten Minnaar Shoes

DESCRIPTION

Former World Champion and World Cup winner Greg Minnaar, asked Five Ten to build him some new shoes. The Five Ten Minnaar Shoe is the result. It's an SPD compatible shoe that works as well on the mountain as it does at the local taco joint. Either way, the black and white stylings look sharp. The Minnaar Shoe has, of course, Five Ten Stealth rubber for the sole. Only this time, it's not black as we'd expect, but red. Not to worry, it's just as sticky and you can expect secure traction even if you use them on flat pedals. One of the inherent qualities of Five Ten rubber is the durability. No other rubber out there is as sticky and lasts as long against the offenses of the gnarly traction pins on your pedals. If you plan to use the Minnaar Shoe with SPD pedals, you'll simply need to remove the cleat pocket cover and replace it with your cleat, clip in and go! Clipless pedals will allow you to start faster and have more security over rough terrain. And the Minnaars have a stiff enough midsole to complement the additional performance of clipless pedals. The uppers are a combo of black and white action leather. All of the seams are double stitched for durability. And we really like that the lace eyelets have metal grommets. So they'll lace up more easily, and tensioning the shoe before a downhill run is quicker and more thorough down the forefoot. To top it all off, a velcro strap is used to secure the midfoot, and it keeps the laces under control and out of your chain. The Five Ten Minnaar Shoe is Black and White and comes in half sizes from men's 7 through 12, with a full size jump to 13.

Strength:

Shoes Look really good, feel wonderful on and off the bike. For casual run to the store trips, they fit the bill, but for an exclusive one shoe does it all; no.

Weakness:

On longer trips, after about 10-15 miles there is enough flex in the sole, to start tearing my feet up. Heavy and thick walls, not breathing well.

Had high hope for this good looking shoe; but not a serious bike shoe. Still trying to find a replacement for my old Nike Kato's
