Bottom Line:These are my first riding shoes and I'm really happy with them. I'm not a racer and I don't do extreme technical riding so they're perfect for me. I ride with Time Z pedals and I've had very little trouble getting in and out. They do have good adjustability and have held up very well in all kinds of conditions. If you're looking for a entry into riding shoes you can't go wrong with these.

    Date Reviewed: July 14, 2002
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $45.00
    Purchased At:online
    Strengths:Good looks
Weaknesses:lacing pattern and the velcro strap always biting into the laces. Didn't work well at all with my ATACs, very hard to locate and clip in.
    Similar Products Used:Cannondale C Soles
Bottom Line:Had to give up wearing these for trail riding because of the problems I had clipping in. No matter what I did, I couldn't do it fast enough for the technical riding I do. I found myself worrying about clipping in instead of the upcoming rocks and drop offs, and thats not good. I'm now wearing them as casuals. Good price, but for riding, only one chili......

    Price Paid: $50.00
    Purchased At:Local Bike Shop
Strengths:The shoes are comfy! for the epic rides, even!. They are quite lite for a casual shoe with quite large lugs. They offer good support, and allow for a good range of cleat adjustment.
Weaknesses:They are kinda warm in the hot weather.

Bike Setup:Quite stock Marin Rocky Ridge
Bottom Line:Buy 'em! great value for the quality of shoe you get.

Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $80.00
Strengths:Look cool. Keep water out. Works for me.
    Weaknesses:can't think of any
    Bike Setup:upgraded 1999 Iron Horse ARS 2.0
w/ '01 Judy XC, DH cage clipless, Deore/LX/Avid, IRC Pirhana Pro 2.1s, Sun Z19 rims, Amoeba DH rise bar, ODI lock jaw grips
Bottom Line:Looking for a good cheap shoe? Buy these. Nikwax 'em a couple times and you can walk ankle deep in lakes and if you're careful they'll stay dry. The treads are grippy and the soles are stiff. A good shoe for all day rides and/or in sloppy conditions. Not super light, definetly not for racing, but for every day people, they work well.
