Adidas' Minrett is the perfect MTB shoe for the occassional rider who wants the basics: function, fit, and performance. The price is nice, but you still get top-end features like an EVA insole and midsole, nylon plate for stiffness, and an outsole made of high-traction rubber for the ultimate grip. Casual look and walkable sole, so they work just as well on campus or at the coffee shop as they do on the trail.
The upper is open mesh nylon for quick drying, with reflective materials for additional safety.

I use them for my commute to work, they've been great thus far. If that is your intended use for them I would highly recommend these shoes. Plus if you forget your other shoes (oops did that yesterday) you don't have to run around all day in flaming red trackstar shoes. As I said before I would highly recomend these for commuting or just riding around town. Not a hard core MTB shoe by a long shot though, so if thats what you are after I would say look elsewhere.

i use these for commuting. i took out the laces and put in elastics with a lace lock for quick change. its a great shoe for this use, you can pass in public as wearing normal sneakers. they also ride very well, since the sole is fairly stiff. they are quite narrow and run small though. i have narrow feet, size 45.5 sidis are a generous on me. for these, i tried size 11s (my sneaker size)-too narrow and short. size 11.5 US/(46) BARELY makes it for me.

Strengths:
Comfortable, recessed cleats don't click when you're walking around. Look like normal shoes.
Weaknesses:
Quite heavy, but if used just for commuting it shouldn't matter much anyway.
Bottom Line:
I use these to commute to work with, and do errands around the city. They're very comfortable and are a great "stealth" cycling shoe. They're a bit heavy for the singletracks, but for just biking around town they're a great shoe, because you don't need to bring an extra pair of shoes with you, or walk around the grocery store sounding like a horse.

Quality, versatility, do not look like a cycle shoes, convenient heel loop makes pulling them on quick and easy, recessed cleats prevent clicking and floor scuffs.
Weaknesses:
Scuff easily, Gotta check to make sure that laces are properly tucked into tounge pouch.

Great shoe for the not so hardcore rider. I use my bike around town, multiple days a week, and these shoes are great. I can bike to a bar, the grocery store, or a restaurant without carrying a second pair of shoes because you cannot tell that I am wearing cycle shoes. The cleats are pretty much recessed into the soles, so it is not awkward to walk in them (though I wouldn't want to go on a jog), and it is pretty simple to keep the cleats from damaging your floors. I don't know how these would fare on the trail, but for a commuter or city rider they are money. Great everyday SPD bike shoes.

The shoe is very comfortable for a cycling shoe. Its definitely walkable and hikable. I've gone off my bike and straight to movie theaters or malls with the shoe. It has displayed no durability problems for the years its been in use. The only minor drawback would be the lack of a velcro strap to keep the laces in check. if you dont tie them tight, they loosen (as with any show with laces).

They look like 'regular' shoes. Adidas brand has never let me down. Tongue flap to tuck in laces. Reflective strips.

These are my first pair of shoes and pedals. First impression, these just look cool. That and the Adidas name is the reason I got these. The fairly cheap price from Nash Bar was a plus, too.
First off, when you get these, toss the lame screw plate and screws away. They are too short, causing the cleat to become loose. One of the screws came out on me in the middle of a ride, not good! I basically had to do some fancy foot work to get my foot free, leaving the cleat stuck on the pedal. I put the screw plate and screws that came with the pedals on the shoes and have not had any problems.
Overall, the shoe is great!!! Comfortable, like a regular atheletic shoe from Adidas. The best part is the tongue. The folks at Adidas designed a pocket where you can tuck your laces in, genius!
The shoes also have plenty of reflective accents one the top and back of the shoe for saftey at night. There is even a reflective strip on the front of the toe area that looks like it was either insert molded or co-molded...again, genius.
If you are a newbee like me, I totally recommend this shoe. They fit and feel like an everyday shoe so it will be an easy transition.
