Strengths:    Extremely light weight, windproof, well-fitting, cuffs seal wind.

Weaknesses:    durability?

Bottom Line:
This is a fantastic windproof layer. It's so light, and actually more packable than advertised, that I can stuff it in my camelbak or seat bag and just forget it. My one concern is how it will hold up in a wreck. It's not a full-on rain jacket, and isn't advertised as such.

Date Reviewed: December 28, 2008

Strengths:    light weight, stores in small amount of space, very wind resistant

Weaknesses:    not waterproof after the coating wears off

Bottom Line:
don't get Helium if you're looking for something to protect you from rain, even light rain over short distances. It's ideal if you want a compact garment to block the wind.

Anyone have one yet to do a mini review? Previous Helium Aero model had complaints about the short arms for the 2 ... Read More »

Thule Helium Aero 2?

Couldn't really find much on the Helium Aero hitch rack from Thule. Any current users? As much as I want a 1Up, getting fitted for two bikes is breaking the budget just a tad. I'm fine with a hang and swing type set up. The other choice is the Yakima Highlite 2...Read More »

Thule Helium + Modern bikes = fail

More of a rant on bike racks with modern frames. Was very excited about the ease of hitch style racks, so the bikes would go right on it and all would be good (would have went for a tray style hitch, but I need to be able to pull the rack on/off relatively easily as I'm in a high crime hood). But ... Read More »
