Strengths:
-Lightweight -Excellent venting -Great fit
Weaknesses:
Lower part of front vent is easily broken. I endoed and hit the front of the helmet, and the support bars broke across the front. Specialized offers no replacement policy whatsoever. It was a tough pill to swallow when I had only owned the helmet for a couple months and now was looking at paying full price for another one. Called the LBS, and they offered to replace it at cost. I had the second one for about a year a half. Ended up doing an endo last week. Landed on the front of the helmet, but it wasn't a hard hit. The helmet broke in the same place. I will not be replacing it with another Decibel, even though I love the fit and vents. I have never broken any other helmet. The hits I took were not hard hits, and the helment should not have broken. The front support bars are too weak.
Bottom Line:
This is the second busted Decibel helmet in two years. While the helmet did its job and protected me, the hits were not hard enough for the helmet to break--especially at a $170 price. I have had much cheaper helmets protect my head during falls without breaking. I will not buy this helmet again, although I love the fit and vents.
